I have already researched a lot about menopause and the many different symptoms following my hysterectomy at 46. I have been peri-menopausal since 38 and my symptoms suddenly became a lot worse and more consistent following the op. Following Dr Louise on IG has been such a God send for me as my GP’s have never been particularly understanding. You feel you’re literally going mad, so the realisation after downloading this app, that you’re actually just ‘meno-normal’ is a huge relief! I feel as though every part of this app resonates in some way with me and I love Louise’s top tips. It is a revolution in women’s health that I am so glad to be part of and I applaud and support Dr Louise in her plight to educate, enlighten and spread knowledge of what affects half of the worlds population, yet unbelievably so many medical professionals know very little about. If you feel like you’re losing your marbles, download this app, follow Dr Louise on IG and you’ll soon realise what you’re experiencing is normal and you’ll have a place to go to find out what you can do to help yourself. Can’t recommend this app enough! Thank you Louise x

I found this app following watching Lorraine on itv. The female doctor who was involved with the app explained the rationale for it. Following downloading the app it has offered me more knowledge of the menopause and what to expect. The app offers information to record which helps the site to develop the research into the menopause. I think this has been a very useful piece of equipment to have in my phone and I share my experiences with others for them to appreciate this app and to help them. It is important to record the daily logs to enable you to reflect on what has happened within your day. You can record your exercise plan, fluid and nutritional intake. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed

Very useful app - and a bit of constructive feedback
Emma Ottilia
I have found this app really useful - I wish I had discovered it five years ago because I could have tracked my periods in a much easier and more informative way than using paper calendar print outs! I wanted to track more diligently after having some other menstrual bleeding that I didn’t note properly - and I ended up having precancerous cervical cells removed in an operation. This year more bleeding between periods led to the discovery of polyps - and one had complex precancerous cells - and having to go through menopause instantly after hysterectomy and oophorectomy. So now I have used the app to track mood (variable), sleep (terrible) and other symptoms - and hopefully to see if and how much difference my starting HRT makes. I have only one criticism but it mattered quite a lot to me. When I went back to my profile to adjust my procedures and period info, the choices for periods were only three: regular / erratic / I don’t have periods. Feeling somewhat emotional, I switched from “regular” to “I don’t have periods”. But when it went back to my profile page that option read as “I haven’t had a period for at least twelve months.” This made me want to shout and cry and throw my phone on the floor (none of which I actually did, I hasten to say). Obviously, I had had my last period, knowingly, only a few weeks before the operation - and had felt really very sad about it. This made me feel like I was not seen, and people in my situation (sudden or induced menopause) not given an option to reflect their experience or position in this slot. This is ironic as everywhere else on the app there is info about the procedures and articles tailored to surgical menopause as well. But there should be an adjustment to how this info about not having periods is presented, if also ticking the hysterectomy / oophorectomy boxes.

I’ve got my life back
I’ve got my life back
Eight months since my first consultation with Dr Laura, a couple of tweaks of my meds and I can’t thank you enough … you have given me my life back. Two years of anxiety and depression, being given anti psychotic meds from my GP and spending 1 month in hospital. With a thorough understanding and prescribing of the right HRT , estrogen patches, progesterone tablets and testosterone gel, I am back to myself and am now fully functioning. I have asked my psychiatrist to check the menopause situation of all women of a certain age, rather than giving them anti depressants and mental health medication as the go to solution, We can all do this, it might take time but the support and care from Louise’s team is first class. Thank you x
