The Volkswagen app is the digital companion for your Volkswagen. It allows you to use mobile online services, irrespective of which model you drive with which drive type and whether you have a VW Connect, We Connect or Car-Net contract.
With the Volkswagen app, for instance, as the primary user, you can view your Volkswagen vehicle’s current range, pre-set your preferred temperature, find filling stations and charging stations and much more!
Here are just a few of the wide range of services available:
• Vehicle status: Check whether the vehicle is locked and the lights are switched off
• Send your destination to your vehicle with ease before you travel
• View the last parking position
• Store your preferred authorised workshop or contact Volkswagen AG directly
• Vehicle Health Report
• View the remaining range and current charge level even when you're not in the vehicle

We Charge:

The Volkswagen app is the former We Connect ID. app and also incorporates the functions of the We Connect app.
Download the Volkswagen app and updates free of charge using the button. If you do not perform available updates, you may not be able to access the full range of functions in their entirety.

To use the mobile online services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and to log in to the Volkswagen app with your username and password. In addition, a separate contract (VW Connect, VW Connect Plus, We Connect or We Connect Plus) on the use of mobile online services must be concluded with Volkswagen AG online at www.myvolkswagen.net or via the Volkswagen app. More information is available at connect.volkswagen.com and your Volkswagen dealership.
ID.3 Pro: Electricity consumption in kWh/100 km: combined 16.5-15.2; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 0. Consumption and emissions data is only available for the vehicle according to the WLTP, and not according to the NEDC. Information on consumption and CO₂ emissions with ranges depending on the selected equipment of the vehicle.
In practice, the actual electrical range varies depending on factors including driving style, speed, use of convenience/auxiliary equipment, outside temperature, number of passengers/additional load, topography and the battery's age and wear process.
I’ve had my id buzz since December 2022 and although the app information is quite good, it doesn’t sync very often, and you don’t seem to be able to force it to sync, so for example I’m in my bed looking to see what state of charge I’m at so I can set off for the day and is says 44% last sync 6hours 4 minutes ago, I think that is not good enough, also I own several VW vehicles and have to use a separate we connect app for some of them , is it so difficult to combine the information from one app to the other, or even jump from one app to the other when selecting the vehicle. I have tried to start the air conditioning to see if this will force a sync but even this is a bit hit or miss.I have also tried to select app support but unfortunately I do not speak German so it doesn’t work for me

Formerly useful app for an owner of an ID.3. Does not have many features but was nonetheless perfectly adequate for monitoring available range and charging progress. Since the most recent update the app does not report the car’s state of charge and charging information is hit and miss when the car is plugged in. Also, the widget and main app screens disagree. I’m running on a fully up to date iPhone XS with iOS 15.4.1. Seemingly the only way to get the app to update status is to kill the app an restart it. I have to say, the ownership experience of the ID.3 was already poor in regards to in car software and how that is updated (or more likely not). Please at least get the iOS app back to where it was before! Edit: Version 1.32.0 fixed the synchronisation problems and the widget and main app screen also agree again. I did not risk deleting the app as suggested by the VW development team. It was difficult enough to get it signed up in the first place. Anyway, the latest version restored functionality back to where it was without further action. [Star rating moved back to 4]Edit 16 March 2023: Latest update now displays range in Kilometres regardless of the app being set to Miles. Careless. Also agree with another reviewer, the battery information used all the time is squeezed onto a tile. Remote control of air conditioning hardly ever used on another tile which takes up space which could be used for battery information. Insufficient attention to usability.

Below is my last review for this app. Since I did the review VW contacted me and helped sort out the issues I had. All is running well and the reply was in English. The app is now working but still has very limited features and they said it is in its early stages. I’ve had my car a year and little has changed. At least it now works and I look forward to updates and new features soon. Last review - I sent an email to the support address as told to do. The reply was in German!!!! There really is no hope for this app. Now it tells me I have to delete all the information on there and it will go back to factory settings. I phoned someone in desperation and half way through the call they put the phone down on me. I am so disappointed. This is not what I expected from VW and has spoilt my enjoyment of my ID3. All I want is a good app and one that I can use. There are hardly any features. This really is a terrible app. Below is the original message I sent. This app is the worst one I have used. I have had my car a year and the app has been terrible after every update. It won’t let you in. Features wise I don’t know why VW bother. This app does very little and there has been no new features since I had my car. I would have thought they would have added more. Indeed when I complained before I was told more features would be added by the end of 2021. Nothing has happened. I really don’t see the point of this app at all. To be honest this is the main thing that is spoiling my enjoyment of having an ID 3. I was really looking forward to technology, in actual fact it is no better than my previous car technology. It’s a shame because the actual car is great. It is just not very technically advanced. I am disappointed in VW.

A sorry tale - I have a Golf 8 and the We Connect app worked - downloaded this after BUYING the additional mood light pack it failed to work - spoke to VW digital who reset my car infotainment system on and hour and half phone call with them - the guy was helpful and promised to escalate to technical team to help as my car isn’t talking to the app - that was almost 2 weeks ago and 8 calls later I’ve been told it can’t be escalated as there is no managers and the technical team can’t help speak to customer service - they in turn can’t speak to digital and the digital team are refusing to give them any info on my case - I’ve now cancelled the additional lighting but still been charged by VW but it doesn’t work - apparently there are massive issues with the app - I’m told the refund is being processed but the digital team can’t tell me when the refund will occur as they can’t talk to the refund team and the refund team can’t speak to me - apparently the reason there is a backlog of refunds is because people pay by bank transfer and then decide to cancel and switch to card payment - I think it’s probably that the app doesn’t work and VW can’t process the failed upgrades quickly enough- the actual additional package was a Black Friday promo that VW sent me 6 times over 6 days Awaiting a call back from customer service (again) but I doubt it will happen (again) The app even tells me the car is unlocked when it’s locked Spoke to local dealer who says there are HUGE issues with the app and it’s no working - yea true but at least the dealer is being honest and telling me the truth
