Nice app for reading/listening to literature. I think they have a pretty good selection. I use it mostly for audiobooks, and I’ve enjoyed quite a few. As others have mentioned, the app would be greatly improved by offering the option to preview some snippets. Especially for audiobooks, sometimes you just don’t like the voice. Otherwise very satisfactory 🧐.
The Widest Collection - Fantastic

I’m so thrilled my American NYC library card allows me access to Hoopla. It’s the widest collection of audio books next to Audible ( not as good as Audible, but it’s free). And there is no frustration with waiting (and waiting and waiting) like platforms like Libby. While I haven’t taken advantage of other forms of media like movies, it is amazing those are also included!My only two complaint are 1. the search engine in Hoopla is terrible, making it difficult to find books and 2. There isn’t a sample option like there is on platforms like Audible. My library does allow 10 books a month and I do a workaround by listening to the demo on other platforms before borrowing on Hoopla. So it’s not a huge deal, when the platform is so fantastic otherwise
App Rarely Works and Tech Support is a Joke

This app hasn’t worked correctly for years. Before I got my new iPhone it didn’t work on my old phone for 6 months. I have emails of going back and forth with support for months. Their suggestions are canned responses or they don’t bother replying. I got a new phone, it worked for a while then stopped, and now only works on my old phone. Their support is useless and painful because they just keep asking you the same questions over pretending they’re trying to help. The Advice is nearly the same as well. It’s a miracle this company exists at all as they operate like a scam.
Tiresome app but great collection

Doesn't rotate to fit screen on my ipad, doesn't let you delete books that you borrowed just to look at, because it has no preview etc etc. Use it once in a while for books you can’t get anywhere else, but otherwise — great selection of ebooks and comics not available in my town library.
