Grab in Malaysia is excellent, I have one issue with Grab app and it’s potentially a big problem. When I look to book a Grab at times the app states 5 minutes waiting but a driver accepts with a waiting time of 20!mins, sometimes while carrying current fare. So perhaps you cancel but if you do it too many times for the reason of inaccurate time detail the. You cancel get blocked from booking a standard Grab, which could be a big problem. I don’t cancel for fun or too annoy drivers but 5 minutes changing to 20 isn’t really ok. I’m not sure what can be done. Aside from this issue Grab is great in Malaysia

First experience using this app was trying to book a taxi from Kuala Lumpur Airport to the city centre. Booked a standard plus that based on the Grab description was big enough for 4 people and our baggage, only to get a text message from the allocated driver asking how many people the booking was for. I replied explaining it was for 4 people. She then phoned saying her car wasn’t big enough and very aggressively stated I needed to cancel the booking. She was clearly touting her car for something better than it was to command a higher premium in the app, and wanted me to cancel so I would be charged the cancellation fee.In the end I had to cancel as we had been waiting 10 minutes and she hadn’t moved and I was charged the cancellation fee. When I contacted Grab to complain I received no help or acknowledgment that the vehicle had been falsely offered for 4 people, just a bot stating I had to pay the cancellation because the booking was made >5 mins ago even though she hadn’t moved and it was a clear scam! Disappointing.

I have been a Grab Taxi user for three years. At first the service was excellent. But my most recent trip to Thailand reveals that the taxi side of Grab is failing fast. Any time of the day or night, the app will tell you it’s a busy time and there aren’t many drivers on the road. It takes ages for a driver to accept. Waiting times are nearly always in double figures. About half the rides I have booked on this trip have been cancelled by the driver with no reason given. I’ve had rides accepted by the driver who has then driven off in the opposite direction, drivers fail to answer calls or reply to messages, the app states the driver has arrived, but there is no driver within five kilometres of me. It is chaotic and cannot be relied upon any longer, if you are a user that has to get from A to B. A pity, because it has been great in the past. But no longer.
Some say bugs are the future of food: They are rich in protein and can be sustainably produced for mass consumption. In fact, some 2 billion humans on the planet eat bugs as part of their diet.
