I have used this app for several months now. Having previously tried out most of the other well known apps this one stood out a country mile for me. The only letdown I have is that I don’t use it enough, but that is my fault. The developers are clearly and continually learning from their customers, adapting the app to make it more like talking to a real person. There will never be a substitute for speaking directly to somebody who is a native speaker but this app comes way closer than the others I’ve been involved in. It does lack a little structure I suppose, but it more than makes up for it in flexibility and I suspect that there are probably aspects of the app that I haven’t even explored yet. I just like talking to the AI generated characters and I like the fact that they remember things from earlier on in the conversation. I think the developers are extending this so that the AI remembers what you said from previous conversations (if you choose that option) so the conversation feels even more realistic. I just think it’s an amazingly good app for the monthly price. I regularly visit Spain where I tried to practice what I have learned in real life, and this app way more than any others has actually helped me. Contrast this with a couple of my friends who stick to the more formulaic apps and when I have been to Spain with them, they can’t actually hold a conversation at all. The other apps just seem too academic. It depends what you are learning for, I suppose.
Using the web site rather

Web site v app. I find it’s better to use the web site rather than the app. The site is brilliant. I find the call mode to be of most use because it is hands free and the most close to a conversation in reality. But setting that up on the app with call mode often does not work well. The app has a habit of automatically finishing the conversation and just when the conversation is going well. But on the other hand the web site doesn’t do this, or not often, the conversation continues seamlessly.A bit of an update Now they’re updated the app and works real well. No need in fact to use the website because everything is now in the app. You get 4 hours on call mode a day before max out. Sometimes wish it would be longer. But suppose 4 hours would be sufficient for most. Excellent app works great and gives me what I want, just talking as if I was with a buddy.
Unexpectedly stunning AI language learning

When I first came across this app I was pleasantly surprised by its very usable AI conversational ability. It worked well and it became part of my language learning. A few months later and I now find it absolutely stunning as a result of a couple of new needs I had.1. I am learning Spanish using the 'comprehensible input' methodology as espoused by Dreaming Spanish amongst others. As part of that I have reached the stage of immersion where I need to be engaged in conversation with a Spanish speaker where they speak Spanish and I reply in English (called cross talk). With no effort at all, Langua was happy to assist!2. I recently had to deliver my first business presentation speech in Spanish. I asked Langua to assist (assuming that it couldn't possibly work) and it utterly surprised me. It went through the speech with me, speaking a sentence at a time then listening to my replies and providing detailed comments on my pronunciation. Maybe not quite as good as an attentive human being for sure but incredibly usable and much more patient!I'm certain the app will support my language learning for many years to come! P.S. I have tried many many language apps and settled on one or two that genuinely impact my learning. Langua is one of them
Surprisingly, this may be the very best resource that I have found.

I'm something of a technophobe, even if I do own an iPhone and a MacBook. So when I saw review reviews for this particular application, I was, to put it mildly, hesitant. But after a staggeringly impressive free trial, during which I felt comfortable producing my target language (Italian) for the first time ever, I became a convert. 😊 is it the cheapest option on the planet? no. Is it worth every penny of the subscription? absolutely yes! It's reliable, the voices are extraordinarily lifelike and have an excellent Italian accent, and the personalities are charming, relaxing, helpful, and (unlike human tutors) they never get tired, never get bored, and will not sigh if you ask them to explain something for the 28th time. 😊
