Certainly ticks most of the boxes for an email client and some useful features.I'd like to be able to group mail boxes so I can see all my personal emails together but separate from work. Also, there are a couple of irritating bugs which have been around for quite a while now:1. Juddery, jerky rendering when you pinch and zoom an image (used to be ok until a few months back)2. I cannot refresh my Gmail mailbox while on the work WiFi. Whilst this might be firewall related, how come I've never had this problem with other email clients? Sounds fixable.Fix these issues and I might be more impressed. I have a very low tolerance for bugs._______**Update:6 months after the developers email me to say "we're working on improving our pinch to zoom" there is still no improvement in this most basic of 'features'. Come on team... it's really not that hard and it's not like some niche request._______**Update:I commend the developers response to my review – very speedy and friendly! This is what they said (in summary, "if you don't like it get a different app"?!)"Hi. Unfortunately this isn't a one-fix-for-all type of issue, the issue varies from message to message, and we're working on improving this overall. In the meantime, we'd absolutely encourage you to find an app which suits your needs, and we apologize for the inconvenience! Please drop us a line if you have questions, issues, or suggestions in the future."_______**Update July 2020:My word, they’ve only gone and fixed the terrible pinch and zoom, about 2 and a half years after I first raised it. Finally a usable interface. Why the heck did this take so long?!Anyway, to be clear, I’m delighted this has been fixed as it’s an otherwise great app now.

Probably the best email client out there
AtterKing
I have a few email addresses for business, personal, and spam. Having tried a plethora of email clients I settled on Outlook for my business emails, gmail for personal and Apple’s own client for spam and historic. I tried each of these (plus others) as a single solution for multiple email addresses and non of them seemed to cut it for me. Not being able to customise individual notifications or notification sounds, along with over complicated settings pushed me towards having three clients on my iPhone. Then, by chance, I stumbled across Edison. Still not giving up the search for the perfect email client I downloaded it and chucked in all my addresses. I found the settings both simple and to my joy I was able to customise each address to my liking. Business emails are notified and have the usual Apple email chime, personal emails are notified and have a different sound associated. Spam accounts don’t notify me but the count appears on the icon. All perfect for my needs. I ran Edison concurrently for a while and found I was notified immediately whereas Outlook and others came later. Ok sometimes only a second or two later but on occasion up to 10 minutes. Not sure why this is, all are pushed at the same time surely?I’ve not deleted all other email clients and consider this the bees knees! It suits my needs perfectly, it may be the one you’re looking for too!Oh and one more thing.....it’s completely free!! Well done Edison team on creating this little gem.

Good app, easy enough to use but data privacy more important for me
Sparviter
Mostly ok but as with any app there’s some initial confusion as to how the app interacts with your chosen email providers, especially with regards to Bin / Deleted Messages / Trash etc. I’ve seen some reviews mention they get notifications for mails that don’t exist. I had the same problem and it took me too long to fathom why. Biggest problem for me is the Edison policy on data privacy / information harvesting and sale. Plenty of information out there about Edison, users can make their own decision. I started getting lots of spam mails after using Edison mail and decided my privacy is more important than their app popularity. Deleted. Another problem is I keep getting spam “developer has responded to your review” emails. I’ve seen it already. I will form my opinion of your app based on a variety of independent sources, not just your feedback and I won’t change my opinion or my review just because you don’t want a bad review so stop spamming me!! In fact I have now downgraded my review from two to one star because of this. If you keep spamming me with responses I will report it to Apple.

Hi Sparviter:Most importantly: our app CANNOT notify you of messages which don't reach the inbox first. Second: our app does *not* have the ability to MOVE messages anywhere but to the trash (if you've blocked/unsubscribed from the sender.) Any messages which are truly classified as spam by your provider will never reach the inbox because their spam filters will catch it.This means these message(s) you're referring to getting notified of are reaching the inbox FIRST, and another app or service is moving the messages to spam. If the messages were truly caught by your spam filter, they'd never reach your inbox and our app wouldn't notify you. In our app, "unsubscribe" merely DELETES the messages from those senders, we don't move the messages to spam folders unless the user clearly moves/marks the message as "spam" (and even then, our app, nor any third-party email app, has the ability to train your spam filter by doing so, we just move the message.) The other possibility is you're receiving notifications for senders you've blocked/unsubscribed from, and our app is unable to suppress the notifications because you're force-quitting the app in the background. As far as our data policies go, we cover these pretty transparently here: https://www.edisonmail.com/privacy-commitmentsEdison does NOT sell your private information (including email address) so any spam you receive isn't a result of using our app, and you'd continue to receive those messages outside of our app as well – using our app and receiving this spam aren't related. We'd recommend contacting your provider or considering marking these messages as spam on their side, as third-party apps cannot train your spam filter, only move messages to the spam folder.Users are always welcome to opt-out of our Edison Trends product, or delete their data entirely following the instructions laid out in our FAQ: https://mailsupport.edison.tech/hc/en-us/articles/115003590403-How-do-I-opt-out-of-data-sharing-or-delete-my-stored-data-We look forward to your reply/updated review now that this has been addressed, but if you have any other questions please let us know and we'd be happy to help! 🙂
Great App but a few drawbacks...
Hagenius
This had become my primary email client and I manage 10 email accounts (both business & personal.) Most things about this app are good. Fast interface, good features, secure but here are a few draw backs and these have made me search for a new email client application:-This version keeps crashing during writing a message especially when using swipe to text and picking a suggested word. (iPhone)-Viewing an excel attachment preview directly from inside the email doesn’t allow zooming in/out properly to view the email efficiently. (iPhone) -When using this application on an iPad, during replying, forwarding, composing a new email etc it doesn’t recognise the use of the arrow cursor buttons on the external keyboard. (iPad)-Why am I restricted to the last 500 only emails? Since they ate on the server, I should have access to everything even if it’s via a ‘load more’ option. (iPhone & iPad)-Apple Watch support especially to be able to reply to an email and actually access your overall inbox from the watch by going into the app whenever you choose, that would be awesome. I have used many email clients and although you need an interface update to stay in line with the competition, feature wise I find Edison to be the best. To become pound for pound champion, you need to incorporate the above. I for one would happily pay for these bug fixes, updates etc. Add these and I will find a way to upgrade this review to 6 stars, let alone 5!!! 🙂

Hi Hagenius, thanks for the feedback – we'er aware of many of these issues already and working on fixes (swipe to type crash, iPad keyboard, etc.)We've chosen 500 messages for stability and performance, but you can always use the search function to locate any other messages outside that batch of 500 in the list. We don't have plans for a watchOS dedicated app right now (it's also not a request we get often), but we'll certainly consider it after we release our macOS and Windows apps.I've shared your comments with our team. Please drop us a line if you have questions or other suggestions in the future: mailsupport@edison.tech 🙂
- Improved email rendering and subscription management for a smoother experience across the app.
- Performance improvements and issue fixes, including enhanced stability on iPad.
