This is the weather app with personality... if you’re OK with sarcasm, political jokes and the occasional insult. How good is it at the weather part? Drawing data from Foreca, one of meteorology’s more accurate forecasting services, it's pretty great.

I look forward to checking the weather. There are features in here I didn’t even know I wanted in a weather app (like telling me the best hours for photography). I’m constantly playing the secret missions, trying to unlock stupid achievements, playing with layouts, sending screenshots of the hilarious weather reports to friends, and more!My only criticism is that the temperatures for the “just right” range (that’s right the app can tell you if it’s going to be hot or cold based on YOUR definition of hot and cold - love it!!) are still warmer than my preferences!! The lowest range is 16c-24c but my just right range is more like 12c-21c. Please consider recalibrating for people who want to live in perpetual autumn weather and hate it when it’s over 20c and they have to ditch their cardigans!! I can say my hot threshold is over 21c so why would my “just right” range be able to be above that?

Update, 1st Nov 2017;This app just gets better and better. It gets constant attention from its developer (unlike some!) with new features and further enhancements. I’m a beta tester for new builds, which are released very frequently with excellent notes on what’s new and what to test. Some people can get put off by the money this app asks for, but if the support is second to none, I’d certainly say it’s money well spent!Original review;I've been using CARROT⁵ Weather for a while. I previously used Dark Sky exclusively, since it seemed like the most accurate available. Since CARROT⁵ used Dark Sky data, as well as having a large emphasis on the Apple Watch app, I decided to try it.As expected, the Watch app was brilliant. The customisation options and complications were exactly what I wanted. However, the iPhone app left something to be desired. It was accurate and useful, but a great deal of screen space wasn't being utilised, instead having funny animations and statements from CARROT⁵ herself. Entertaining as it was, I wanted something more utilitarian.Then along comes this update. The screen space now mostly contains useful weather information set out in a very logical and ergonomic way. The quirky animations and statements remain, but are done in a way that don't distract from the primary purpose of the app; checking the weather.Everything seems to work as expected, so now CARROT⁵ is my current exclusive weather app.I highly recommend this app.(I have not written this review under any coercion from CARROT⁵ herself. LOL)

God this app is amazing! While people enjoy simple weather apps this one is on a whole different level. Don’t get me started in the dozens of customisations and options you can choose from, even if it is behind a premium subscription it’s still worth it. The creator deserves it for adding the hilarious humour into CARROT, the aesthetics, design and yours truly the AI CARROT. It’s very important that there is a balance with information and the humour, it’s a weather app after all and CARROT has that perfect balance. I only have one complain though and it’s the wind speeds that may sometimes very inaccurate so I don’t really recommend you to rely on it. At the end of the day, the creator has done a great job and if you want something to replace your default weather app on your phone, choose CARROT.
