Learn Cryptic Crosswords 4+

I’ve been dipping in and out of cryptic crosswords for years and love them, but it usually takes me a long time to complete a tricky one alone. I really enjoyed this comprehensive and informative guide to solving them. Excellently written, with each section building neatly on the last. Though quite a lot of the content I knew, there were plenty of ideas to really help me refine my cryptic approach. Definitely worth the money for anyone who has always wondered how to do these elusive puzzles!
The slider is annoying though, as the moment you slide it left or right it swipes to the next page, so you have to do it so slowly! And it would be good if there was an option to fill in the clues you understood straight away without having to pick all the options first, just to tick that page off. 😉

As a 47 year old teacher, I thought I’d never be able to comprehend cryptic crosswords, let alone be able to solve them. But this app (paid, and well worth it - think of it like a book, but interactive) has, over the course of a few days, completely changed my perception of cryptic puzzles. They are still hard - don’t get me wrong! But I have tools to help me approach them and now have the framework to attempt to solve some of them. That feeling when an answer suddenly clicks into place… it’s a mixture of triumph and a deep respect for the puzzle writer. I’m loving this app.

It takes a lot to please me. I have never ever written or commented on an app before and believe me I use a plethora of them, particularly for music work.
So here it is. Excellence in every particular, brilliant functionality, superbly constructed, logical in the learning journey it takes you on. Thank you to all those at Teazel. In case the developers are reading this and maybe you have already done so - your ‘on screen’ anagram solver technology would be great to have in a stand alone app where one can move the letters around on screen - that would be most useful. Thank you once again for this exceptional app.
