Description

Microsoft Planner requires an eligible Office 365 work or school subscription. This app does not support Office 365 personal accounts (for example: name@outlook.com or name@hotmail.com). If you are not sure about your company’s subscription or the services you have access to, please contact your IT department.

Planner provides a simple, visual way to organize teamwork. Planner makes it easy for your team to create new plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat about what you’re working on, and get updates on progress.

-- Organize work visually --
Each plan has its own board, where you can organize tasks into buckets. You can categorize tasks based on their status or on whom they’re assigned to. To update the status or change assignments, just drag and drop tasks between columns.

-- Visibility --
The My Tasks view provides a comprehensive list of all your tasks and their status across all your plans. When working together on a plan, team members always know who is working on what.

-- Collaborate --
Built for Office 365, Planner lets you work together on the same tasks, attach captured photos directly to them, and even have conversations around tasks without switching between apps. With Planner, all your team’s discussions and deliverables stay with the plan and don’t get locked away across disparate applications.

-- Works across devices --
Planner works across all your devices. And with Planner, everyone is always on the same page. Continue conversations and updates tasks while on-the-go or at your desk.

Great app for team collaboration - needs further development

I have just started using this app with my team. It has been effortless to get started with, and is very easy to pick up. We work on a rotational pattern of 21 days on and 10 days off, all on staggered shifts, so having all the visibility of task list makes for effective crossover notes. Through that improved visibility, things get done even when you’re not there.

It does need to have an export feature, like an export to Excel and definitely some form of printing would make it even better - this would make team review meetings easier if you don’t have the luxury of a projector in your office. Also, if the checklists within a task could be assigned specifically to people that would be great

Great app. Definitely a winner

Thank you for your feedback as well. We'll review exporting to Excel and assigning individual checklist items with our product team. Cut-down version of website, lacking in personality

The iPad version is simplified and does not offer all the bells and whistles that you get on the web version of Planner. This would be a feature - for instance to prevent accidental deletion of plans, there is no option to delete a plan - but if you really want to do so via the web version you cannot reach it once the app is installed. That’s right, Safari, Firefox etc bounce you to the app version every time, if it is installed.

There are also fundamental problems with the whole platform in terms of customisation. I cannot modify the colours of plans, add icons, or tart it up at all. The theming is basic and does not cut the mustard. Microsoft must think we all want to look at a bland screen. But when I make plans I want to get excited about them, and adding the appropriate colours and icons for my projects is not possible, on the web or on iPad. It is dull.

Unable to launch - update, working in iOS 14

Previously reviewed as 1 star as unable to launch the app. All fixed now. Happy to use the app again. Old review below for reference.

I recently upgraded from iPhone 7 to 11. On my iPhone 7 Planner worked fine. On the 11, I can’t get into the app. It just hangs on the loading screen. No error. Have deleted and reinstalled serval times and rebooted. Please fix this as I used the app lots on my iPhone 7 so I don’t understand why it’s not working on a different handset. Thanks
