Same Qobuz Problem - Now Solved, at last!

I’ve had the same Qobuz problem as Biggles1999. I contacted Qobuz customer support, who replied that they were aware of a problem relating to MusicCast interaction with Qobuz. They said it had been discussed with Yamaha and that the issue would be addressed by a MusicCast update. So there we go! Having said all that, like Biggles1999 I’ve found that I can use AirPlay to stream high res audio from Qobuz to my Yamaha streamer via my iPad. Not perfect, but it still sounds great!

Update November 25th 2020 - Firmware Update today for my MusicCast Streamer, and (WooHoo!!) miraculously everything on Qobuz can now be properly accessed, including searches for albums and tracks. Yamaha took their time, but it was worth the wait. I’m a happy man! It clearly was not an App issue, as the App has not as of today been updated, but in effect it’s like using a new App. No more messing with AirPlay!

Lost count of amount of times I’ve deleted speakers and rooms. When it works, (50% of the time) Musicast is great. The other 50% it forgets speakers (have to “un-stereo” them, then re-stereo the pair to make both work again) This is soooo boring now. Days will go by with perfect operation. Then it will suddenly forget a speaker, and round the app we go again. Don’t even have the time to go into the linking of rooms that it also forgets, just as frustrating. Alexa also has the same problem. One day she will operate with no problem. Then suddenly she “cannot find a room called kitchen”. Obviously it is this app. Things just get “lost” in it. It’s 2020, Yamaha. Sort it, please. 2022 update….Things still no better. In fact THEY ARE WORSE!!!!!! Latest update resulted in rooms not linking. Stereo setups lost, speakers not found. Deleted and re-found speakers. Guess what this app is still driving me mad. Save your sanity. Use another app (as a last resort, I am about to delete the Yamaha app completely, and load it again) This will waste hours of my time (AGAIN!) Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

Unteliable ,

Unreliable

When it works then it’s pretty good but sometimes it just won’t link rooms and I remember the days when I had a fully wired 100% reliable system!!! On more than one occasion it has totally forgotten the room settings and I have to go through the set up. My lounge setup regularly forgets my favourites and has the same net radio in all memories.... much cheaper than Sonos but if I was starting again then who knows. I tell people that the selling point is the wireless and the weakest link... the wireless. Also annoying that when linking rooms surely the priority should be to sync all devices but if I’ve been watching TV previously, then I have to switch from lip sync to balanced.
