Nice car, shame about the app

The original Zoe app was fairly awful, then it was replaced with the first incarnation of My Renault, which was so-so. There swiftly followed an update which made the app less informative than before.
Basic stuff is missing: there’s no option to stop or start charging your car remotely. You can allegedly programme a timer remotely but I haven’t had much success with it. Some of this maybe down to the Zoe’s unnecessarily complicated charging user interface.
On the whole I have found that it is quicker to walk to my car and programme things than try and do it remotely via the app, which pretty much sums up how practical the app is.

Solid app, could be more intuitive

The ability to see use the app to see how car charging is going is really useful and the ability to view the changing charge levels from the app as a passenger, while the car is moving, is also helpful. The map which shows where the car is parked is also pretty neat.

The only problems with the app are to do with the learning curve needed to use some of the more advanced features such as pre heating/cooling the car or setting timers to have the car charge for just a limited time. These seem difficult to set up and I haven’t managed to use them successfully yet. Another annoyance is that once the app is paired with the car the car still asks about connectivity permissions every time it is turned on. A way to select “please don’t ask me again” on this would be great.

One bonus feature that would be great to have on the app in the future would be to have a digital version of the Renault Zoe car manual (and maybe even a repair guide?) so that these can be easily accessed and searched.

Good basic app, but look forward to more functionality soon.

Surprisingly worse than the old app

The old ZE app was clunky and buggy, but at least I could usually check the battery level on my ZE40. Until a recent update, this app looked nicer, but lacked some functionality. Now, it’s just pointless. I can literally do nothing with it. It tells me me car is unplugged: It’s not. It’s charging. The charge level is blank. And that’s it. Oh, it tells me I have an active Connect and Interact contract, for all the good it does me.
Now I just have to guess if my car has charged enough - especially unhelpful when charging at a public charge point.
Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, etc. No use.

EDIT (Oct 2020): Reinstalled after iOS 14 update. Still not even basic functionality (no mileage, doesn’t know if Zoe is plugged in or charging).
