App works well, bar a few minor gripes

App works fine for me most of the time. Only issue is sometimes when I open it, it seems to show the car in a previous “dumb” connection state. What I mean by that is I currently have 1160 miles on my car and sometimes when I open the app in the morning, it doesn’t give me any of the charge information/range etc. and shows that it only has 649 miles on the clock. After leaving the app alone for an hour or so it sorts itself.

Only other gripes I have is that you’re unable to set what temperature you would like the pre-conditioning to run at which is no good if you forget to change it on the infotainment system in the car. Lastly it’s pretty intrusive that it always asks you if you are “enjoying the app and ready to leave a review” - comically if you press ‘no’ then the message just disappears rather than asking for feedback on why not… I’m hoping me taking my time to share my views will stop the message from showing.

With these two things changed, it would be a pretty solid app. I understand the connection issues are down to the servers so that is a different story.

Works but could do with some enhancements

Just bought a Megane E Tech and the app works fine with the car. It shows me when it’s charging and when it is charged and I can get some data out of the car.

The manual for my car says I can set up a digital key to use my smart phone to unlock / lock the car and start it. I can’t find that functionality anywhere in the app. Are you bringing this functionality to the iPhone?

I can’t find any clear instructions for configuring the app when you have two people who are going to drive the car. It doesn’t appear you can link two Renault app accounts to the same vehicle. I’ve therefore got my wife to login to my account. However, she gets the car notifications and not me, unless I log out and back in again, and then she doesn’t get them. It appears you can only receive car notifications to one device at a time.

I charge my car using my solar panels so I can get dozens of started / completed charging notifications a day (as solar production fluctuates) and the app lists them all. Is there anyway of muting them when charging at home? You also get a long list in the car charging log which I don’t seem able to delete.

One section of the app gives me a link to the store, but when you click it you end up on the French App Store.

This app has real potential to be a great companion to a great car. I hope they develop it further, at least enough to match what the car manual says.

Has always been buggy and now …

This app has always has a lot of bugs , has always been unreliable and has had the same poorly designed UI as the car (and the same high level of bugs as the car). But now after an upgrade the all doesn’t recognise the car at all so now has zero purpose and I can’t do anything. Given EV’s are really just a battery and software nowadays , any car company not on top of its software won’t last long. Renault are in that category.
Update : faced with this review Apple suggest I call a premium rate number or contact them on Twitter. I tried Twitter weeks ago and they did nothing. I previously called the premium rate number to discover they ask a lot of questions and then do nothing either. I had a question about timed charging (it doesn’t work correctly and forgets it’s settings leading to high electricity bills) with the multi media team and they wasted weeks and months of my time and couldn’t even tell me how their own software worked after all that time. They are a joke.
Further update : Renault now claim they replied to my tweets and I didn’t respond ? Yet they don’t even know my Twitter account ? They lie. They ARE a joke.
