MyHeating by Warmup 4+

We had two 4iE programmers fitted and before we could even start to use the app, which is pretty dreadful in comparison to similar products, we had issues.

The firmware in the 4iE WiFi programmer is non compliant to the WPA/WPA2 standard concerning passwords. If your WiFi password has a SPACE character in it then the programmer just won’t work. Not much of an issue if you only have a small number of WiFi devices but as someone who has a lot of home automation from an alarm system to Nest smoke alarms, CCTV, Video Doorbell etc, it becomes onerous to change a router password just to accommodate one device.

Warmup’s response ... put in another WiFi access point.

Now for the app. Compared to offerings from HIVE, NEST, TimeGuard etc (which I use in some form or another) the useability of the Warmup app is just appalling. I do not want to consider ‘when I get up’, ‘when I go out’, ‘when I get home’ and ‘when I go to bed’, I just want to set a number of on/off times during the day.

The web portal actually is somewhat more useful than the app, and I have now setup the required time slots using that and NOT the app. The only thing I do on the app is to boost the heating when needed.

Clearly this product is aimed at the North American market rather than UK/European market.

Warmup need to get their act together and fix the firmware in the programmer and significantly improve the useability of the app.

My plumber who was refurbishing our house 8 years ago recommended Warmup Flooring & their Stats as he claimed the best money can buy and most reliable on the market.
As times have moved on with a push towards home automation I have been more than impressed with new products that have enabled us to move with the times, all with small changes to the Stats we have- but remaining with the original underfloor systems - water & electric (still working trouble free to date) - unlike a number of other systems (expensive lighting and AV systems that have had to have major changes to keep up with the changing home automation over the years - both at similar if not more expensive than original systems installed !!
Warmup have kept me informed when needed and not emailed for the sake of it and sure they would never confess to being the cheapest - somethings in life you get what you pay for and their systems are certainly one of these things !! Highly satisfied customer

The thermostat and app works at least. Unfortunately that’s where the smart features end.

- You actually don’t know when you set the temperature if it’s actually working until you can feel it yourself. I would like to see an indicator that it’s on and working (maybe turn background to orange when on?!?)

- Setting a program each day is difficult. You can’t seem to get around their own pre set program of waking up, going to work, coming home, and sleep. If I just want the heating to come on in the morning only, you can’t seem to do that. So you have to manipulate it to work that way.

- Once you set a program, it doesn’t display straight away what you just added, it actually displays something else. Not sure why it does this.

This app needs allot of work, it needs to have better control over programs. I would like to see different settings for different seasons, not a one program fits all approach.

Just be intuitive. Making things simple is very difficult, but it will end up being a great app if you do this.

Warmup are supposed to have the best underfloor heating materials. The same can’t be said about their thermostats and app.
