Well thought out with lots of useful features

Really like this app. I found it very easy to find the film I wanted to see, enter promo codes and book seats, I like that I can save cinemas as my favourites. Also, lots of useful information, like the screen number, technical details and features (like iSense or Laser) next to the showing times.

I love that I can swap my seats even after I have booked, which is great when friends decide to also come at a later time, we can change our seats easily in the app so we can sit together. Also, the ability to cancel my booking which is super quick and easy too.

Some things I would really like to see is the ability to see all the showing times for a film for the whole week on the same page. Currently you can only check one date at a time. I like to see all available showtimes for a film and if/when it is showing on my favourite screen, like the iSense or IMAX screens, which is currently a bit laborious to find. You also can’t search for the nearest cinemas by town name or postcode, so if I know I will be in a certain area and want to see all Odeons nearby, it’s not possible. I can only check by my current location, which is not useful for planning future cinema visits in other areas.

I love movies…

I love movies. Always have, always will. My dream is to be an actor (given I have had very little experience and easily get stage fright though, this seems unlikely). My real goal at the moment in life is to work for EMPIRE. I love watching, talking about, reviewing and recommending films. The Odeon app makes the whole process so easy, so quick and in such a sleek way.

Also being a member of myLimitless, I get a fee perks here and there and it gives me the incentive to go very often! I went 7 times in March - I’m proud with that 😂

All the staff at the Odeon cinemas are always super friendly, helpful and welcoming even though I may well be there for more hours a week than they are sometimes.

The app is well-worth it, especially if you’re a myLimitless member too. You do miss out on the physical ticket souvenir but you can always sign in on the ticket machines and buy one there too - I’ve done this only for special films I like to commemorate (Puss In Boots, Banshees of Inisherin, John Wick Ch4). I do wish they gave out posters for the blockbuster releases but I understand the eco-friendly reasons as to why they don’t any more.

In short: movies are awesome - they teach you a lot, make you smile, make you cry and always remind me of how when hundreds of people come together, something amazing - like a movie - can be made!

Well intentioned but still over complicated

On the light of the requirements for Track & Trace, Contactless and to cut down waste paper on tickets I can understand why they needed to make the changes. What does frustrate me is trying to pick film(s) &/or cinema(s) to see & visit in the first place. I like the fact I can see everything that is on a day. I like that tickets are now contained within the app, getting rid of the need to print off at the machines or more annoying still queuing up to get a paper one 🤦‍♀️! Where it falls down is a simple function to select a forthcoming film & set up push alerts for when tickets are on sale. Additionally it would have been useful for Limitless card holders to have the ability to create a digital version of that card within the app rather carry the plastic one as having somewhere to save your gift card codes to use them when the time is right.

Additional: Trying to make a booking for today at the Holloway cinema for 16:45 I was told I should “...wait 2 hours between discounted tickets”. My other booking is at the same cinema exactly two hours later at 18:45, not accounting for adverts & trailers... 🤦‍♀️
