Description

Get in the zone and make it count, with a social platform and gamification to keep you feeling good, inside and out.

Join an inclusive community fuelled by physical activity, fitness and wellbeing with the heart rate monitor that rewards effort over ability. Or build your own community among your family, friends, and classmates.

At the heart of over 7500 gym chains in over 80 countries, Myzone is a unique wearable fitness brand that rewards effort rather than ability. It's the secret to motivating anyone to feel good about exercise.

The Myzone app uses inclusive, game-based mechanics and social elements to prove time and time again that we're stronger together. When combined with a Myzone heart rate monitor, the app creates personalised zones, based on your maximum heart rate, which means anyone can compete together on a level playing field.

What is Myzone?

▶ FEEL GOOD INSIDE AND OUT
Myzone develops accurate wearable technology, providing engaging and motivational experiences that support lifestyle changes to make exercise habits stick.

▶ JOIN THE COMMUNITY OR BUILD YOUR OWN
Myzone is used by 1.8 million people around the world at home, outdoors and in our partner gyms such as Snap Fitness, LA Fitness, Bannatyne Health Club, Fitness First, Anytime Fitness, and UFC GYM.

▶ USE IT YOUR WAY
Myzone connects through analogue, ANT+ and Bluetooth with gym equipment, and Apple Watch. Myzone integrates with Apple Health to save your workout data and biometrics such as weight, BMI, and BMR. It also integrates with third-party apps such as MapMyRun, Strava, and MyFitnessPal.

Myzone integrates with many other platforms, including Apple Health. If you grant permission, we will save your activity calories, height, weight, BMI, BMR and body fat data to Apple Health.

▶ THE MOST ACCURATE TRACKERS
Myzone heart rate monitors let you know the exact level that you're working out at, in real time. The heart rate monitoring system features electrocardiography (ECG) measurement that's accurate up to 99.4%, as used by health professionals. The MZ-Switch combines an ECG sensor with a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to create the world's first interchangeable heart rate monitor for the gym, outdoors or in water.

▶ LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD
Myzone rewards effort over ability. Each device automatically updates how it records your effort, every time you progress through your goals. The five tailored effort zones make heart rate training easy to understand. Each zone is a percentage of your maximum heart rate, meaning that athletes and fitness newbies can exercise together to earn MEPs (Myzone Effort Points).

▶ WORLD-CLASS WORKOUTS
Myzone means you can take part in live classes with real studio buzz, wherever you are. Exclusive to the Myzone app, MZ-Remote is the world's first virtual live group workout where participants can connect and exercise together, while receiving real-time biometric feedback and personalised coaching from a trainer.

▶ LOVED BY THE EXPERTS
Myzone has been featured and reviewed by international journalists from publications such as Men's Fitness, Men's Health, Women's Health, The Huffington Post, GQ, T3, Wired and Esquire for over 10 years.

Love the app but a couple of issues remain

I love this app as it has really helped me to push myself during every workout to make the most out of my training. I really like being able to participate in challenges with other people as well as encourage them through liking their workouts. I also find the MyZone match sessions brilliant for when I am at the gym but do not have the inspiration (particularly early in the morning) to think of a workout to do. It stops me from getting bored on a machine as I am looking to reach the next stage of the match rather than the time remaining!

The issues that I would love MyZone to fix are:
1. 80% - 89% writing being white on a yellow background. Quite difficult to read when you are jumping around doing exercise and your eyes aren’t focussed!
2. The belt is great but the black part has started to occasionally cut into me leaving scars which I have to pad (for protection) before each workout until they heal again. I know a few others who have had the same problem and they have a similar build to me, slim waist and therefore have to have the belt on the tightest setting it can go, which could be a contributing factor as the belt perhaps isn’t fitting as well as it could on us. I would welcome some feedback on this if possible!

Please sort messaging real time

Honestly, the concept of myzone and the app is great. But something has been lost in the execution. Specifically on the messaging function of the app - (1) the messaging function needs work. It is hideously slow (can be 4mins between posting a comment and it appearing to others), which interrupts real time chat across a group; (2) there is a limit to the text length in chats, which is not obvious...so messages disappear; and (3) you can’t post a picture with comments....the two actions are distinct.

This app could be brilliant. But it’s not. The belts are also flaky and break, although our gym is good at replacing them. The shame of it all is that this app could be EPIC for motivation, for community and for people feeling that fitness is a happy part of their lives. The HR monitor is useful to motivate yourself just on your own, but if you are part of a group, you can set up challenges on the app and motivate each other. This is fantastic and I myself have an absolutely stellar group on this app. We motivate each other and we have all seen our engagement at the gym increase. But....it has been suggested we move to WhatsApp for chat, due to the items above - in particular the time lag, which is a real pain in a large and active group as the message sequencing is all over the place. I think that’s a shame for something probably easily fixed.... developers, what do you think?

Hi, thanks for the feedback! We have taken steps to ensure that MZChat messages are received faster, and we plan on making the 750 character limit clearer in a future release.

Good app - but has problems

I do like this app, but there does seem to be an issue with it when workouts completed via the myzone console at my local gym, and writing them to Apple Health. If I’m doing a workout using the myzone console (a blaze class for example) I generally won’t bother having my iPhone or Apple Watch with me. I wear the belt, it gets registered for the class and all is good. After class I’ll open the myzone app and very quickly it’ll sync with the myzone servers and pick up the workout. Shortly after that the app will wrote this workout to Apple Health, and my watch will usually alert to say I’ve complete exercise and move goals for the day. The problem comes that for some reason the move ring seems to forget the myzone workout intermittently through the rest of the day. If I go back into the myzone app, it generally syncs again, and the move ring gets updated on the watch. I’m not sure why/how the workout data is being changed to affect the move ring. I’ve even had it happen a week later to a workout. In June I closed all 3 rings every day, got an award for doing so, but when I stopped receiving alerts for extending my move streak I noticed a day where it was reporting I hadn’t hit my move goal. The only workout that day was a myzone console workout and the calories for that alone exceeded the move goal. It’s very strange.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for your feedback. The upload issue should be fixed as of version 2.25.12.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
