Version 3.0
Welcome Home.
The main view–now called Home–has been redesigned to make it even easier to discover content you’ll enjoy. In addition to the featured content you’re used to seeing, Home is now where you can find additional pages of curated content grouped by category or interest such as News, Culture, Science, and Classes. We’ll continue to add more Home pages over time, so let us know what you’re interested in seeing more of.
Some other smaller changes in this release include:
• Settings has a new icon
• Library has a new icon
• Browse has been renamed Explore
And also, the team took this update as an opportunity rewrite the entire Featured/Home view in SwiftUI.
Ratings and Reviews
Only one feature that I would recommend
This app is an amazing app and it contains much content from many of my favourite creators. I use it a lot and appreciate the extra/extended content featured on Nebula. The only thing that I would recommend is when a video has captions, a video has a symbol in the corner of the thumbnail if captions are present and no captions symbol if the video is not captioned. This app is very good and this is not a major issue, but would find it helpful so I know if I can watch the video or wait for when I have free time! Thank you so much for developing this app and I appreciate your work!
Still unusable
I gave it a try despite the bad reviews and I regret it. Navigation tab bar randomly loses its background and is hard to see its buttons. The explore section causes crashes very often when navigating back and forth between categories. While scrolling in a section, it will automatically reload it randomly sometimes, making you lose track of what you already scrolled through . Also while scrolling sometimes will confuse a swipe gesture with a click, opening videos you did not intend to open. All this experience in 24h, I’m done. The only way to contact them is via email… they don’t even have a proper contact-us form. I’m speechless, incredible bad service.
Update: they got back to me quickly and immediately issued a refund. Changing review from 1 star to 2 for the prompt customer service, but devs still have a lot to do
I really want to like Nebula…
I really want to like Nebula, but I find it incredibly difficult to use.
It does have the good content that I signed up for, and the videos are extremely well made, but I get suggested far more videos that I just don’t care about. Despite having followed a number of creators, I still have to go in search of them, whereas what I really want is them being valued at the top of the Home Screen, so that I can easily click on anything new from them. Instead, my Home Screen is flooded with videos that I’m just not interested in.
I presume this is more an App issue, so hopefully something can be done there.
I’m not saying to go as far as YouTube’s algorithm, but there is a reason for why I have followed who I have followed. Promote me their videos.
