The Best Loyalty Card App Around

Can see running balance almost instantly once you have checked out at Sainsburys. Actually gives you offers on products you usually buy with higher points 3/4 weeks on staple items such as bacon & sausages. Could do with a bit more variety on some of the other items I buy every week as well as sometimes don’t fancy a lot of the stuff offered extra points on but still end up buying them purely for the extra points (which was handy during ‘lockdown’ but now is going to stop again (unless >50pts per item). Happy that not given vouchers for items never purchased such as pet food, alcohol, etc. Would like to see more offers on fuel purchases now using car more even if just double/triple points on >15litres purchase at Sainsburys (rather than the more expensive & further away Esso) once a month. Same with offers on toiletries as well. Would be nice to see more partners sign up as most I have no use for other than eBay & maybe Ebuyer once or twice a year. Maybe worth partnering with O2 so to collect points each month on mobile bills (I spend upwards of £160 each month on the 5 connections with O2 & would get me a significant amount of points each month & maybe keep me on the higher cost tariffs). Tbh I usually save my points up for the Christmas shop at Sainsburys which the weekly offers help a lot. Can easily break £25+ of points each month with generous bonuses such as ‘300 or double points on next shop/swipe’. Keep up the good work👍🏻

Addicted to a shopping app?

The Nectar app is dangerous, but in a very good way. It’s borderline addictive and I find myself looking forward to Monday when my new offers appear. The app is so easy to use, simple, functional and encourages me to buy items I actually want! The offer change weekly so not always the same stuff and plenty of variety so what I consume is rarely repetitive. The Apps updates almost immediately & has occasional fun features like ‘scratch and reveal’ for extra bonus points. The weekly offers roll for 9 days so if you are unable to go shopping during a week, you could theoretically double up on a Monday, using new offers with existing ones. Tesco is nowhere near in terms of its points offerings, not sure if Asda does one. Where Tesco comes out on top is the range of places where points can be used, so far Nectar lags behind but enough choice to make me want to keep want using the app. Well done Sainsbury’s/Nectar.

Give us back our points

Like the fruit and veg incentives, to encourage you to try new things and include more in your diet, but you haven’t thought this through. Please make sure it works. Points for purchases sometimes register in the app then disappear a week or two later, or don’t register at all so targets remain unattainable. Please play fair, this is not encouraging if you are not getting points legitimately due to you.
In this cost of living crisis, we are all shopping more carefully, often using offers to help with that. Every week at least one bonus offer that doesn’t work and points don’t get added. The support online is limited and you have to waste ages and jump through hoops to try to get the missing points due credited to your account. How about making it easy to upload a screenshot of points awarded in app and a photo of your receipt. Last week 2 items missed, this week 1, missing points add up, and make me consider going elsewhere as points are factored in when looking at price. You can’t wait 28 days as they want, as offers only last a week and disappear from the app, very sneaky as we are just being robbed of hard earned points. Points usually show up later the same day, or next day, occasionally 3 or 4 days, but points for odd missing items never appear. Make it easy to rectify this in the app using screen shots and photo upload. Fed up with grovelling & trying to explain to customer service on a regular basis for points due.
