Really good app for Sainsburys shoppers...shows you balance instantly.. you can use it to swipe when purchasing in store which means you’ll never miss points if you’ve forgotten your card. Has lots of offers from Nectar affiliated partners which I have used to bump my points.. like £15 worth of points shopping at argos(I was missing these before). The best part though is the sainsburys offers.. I find through the app although the points bonuses are smaller (between 20 and 100 typically) they are on food and items I have bought, would buy or are not too far away from things that I like. Most weeks I typically get the points on 16+ of the 20 items with bonuses because they were on my list anyway. This is much better than when I used to get the tickets in the store and it would be offering me 350 points for dog food (I don’t have a dog) or a take away pizza (I don’t buy ready made food)

Nectar App At Sainsburys.
I’ve been using the Nectar Card for some considerable time. When the latest App came out it certainly is an improvement on the previous version. That was a bit of a mess.
The new Nectar App, allows the customer to choose which of offers they wish to add to their shopping, rather than being forced to buy items they don’t want, nice touch that.
The updates allow the user to gain access to their account, swiftly and safely. There have been a couple of times when the system wasn’t working properly. But this was swiftly resolved. Keep up the good work and continually keep improving the Nectar App.
The only thing that I strongly suggest is that the Customer Phone number, should be a Freephone number, rather than having to pay if you have need to call for any help.

OK, Could be better
Sainsburys appear to have developed their own version of the app, which has now been migrated to be the new Nectar app. It does indeed include the features I requested previously in my original review below.
I guess you can now claim the credit and get your 5 stars! But I’m taking one back because newer issues are now introduced:
You’ve missed a bit a trick with adding Wallet capability however, as I rarely need to open the actual app because of this, so still can miss offers (which are better linked to what I’ve actually bought and likely to buy again).
Also, Sainsburys still print shedloads of random paper offers that should just be auto added to your active offers in the app - I thought we were supposed to be going paperless about 3 decades ago?
The app isn't bad, but there are few niggles that would make it much better. The major omission is the lack of a barcode that can be scanned instead of carrying a physical card. Offers are pretty random from participating stores, and I'm not sure I've received all the points I'm due from participating in these, they're certainly not added immediately, which can be a problem where expiry dates exist. Plus the app needs an Internet connection to give your points balance, instead of caching your last downloaded total for when there is no mobile service, such as my local Sainsburys. A star for each of these additions and you get 5, until then, it's a 2.
