It’s long overdue but I’m so glad to see Northumbrian Water (NW) now has an App. It’s so much more convenient to use than the website.I logged into the new NW App easily using exactly the same login details I normally use to access my account on the NW website.The App has basic functionality at the moment allowing me to easily access details of my Bill amounts, Payments made, Account Details, amount of next payment plus due date, and Account Balance. It’s the minimum viable product but it is a great start.I’m looking forward to seeing additional features being added in the future such as the ability to:1) change payment arrangements such as changing bank details or switching between annual, monthly or weekly payments2) make one off debit / credit card payments3) see the underlying details of how the latest Bill amount has been calculatedWell done to everyone involved in developing this App. Great work!!!

I read my water meter every 3 months just to ensure I stay on track with payment. Don’t want to build up debt. The app is such an easy and straightforward way of doing this. Once my reading is submitted any adjustment can be made by NWL. Can see what it may be and know where is stand with my Direct Debit on my next monthly bill. Easy!

Update 31 October 2021. It still crashes on my iPhone 6 Plus version 12.5.5. But works on an iPhone 8. So probably just not supported on older phones and software versions. Giving 4 stars for the working version since it does what is needed. Open screen starts up. It then goes black and crashes. Haven’t been able to open it for months even with the updates.

For information on your bill and managing your account the app works perfectly however it could be amazing if it had more functionality.1. In app messaging - providing the ability to contact customer service through the app via a messaging service. The same way you can ping a message to your bank, wait for a reply and get a notification when a reply is received.Perfect when you don’t need an instant reply and beats sitting on a web chat or trying to call and wait in a queue.2. Service alerts - tells you about an issue in your area affecting water supplies without having to manually search anywhere.3. Ability to report leaks from within the app without being directed to the website.
