Panasonic TV Remote 2 4+

Dear Panasonic, I have recently purchased your Viera TV, the display is great, but setup somewhat difficult. I hoped that this App will help me to configure the TV, for example edit the list of channels to disable all radio stations or ‘Data channels’. The eHelp is very cumbersome to use on the TV, parameter’s descriptions obscure. It would be fantastic to use your App on iPad to do things which are difficult to accomplish using the remote. I totally don’t understand why this App allows me to adjust volume, switch programs - the remote is far better for this job! If this App merely identified my TV model and displayed a pdf with the user guide it would be worth keeping and I would give it 3 stars. Right now just 2 stars, only because it does’t crash. Please get back to the design board and create an App which is supplementary to the remote, not one which replaces it!

Most of the reviews complain about it not working or the layout. Or that it doesn’t do what they want. Firstly its primary use is as a remote from your phone. It works fine. The layout takes getting used to but to fit all the controls into the screen it is required. And for anyone that says it’s not working you may have disabled the settings on the tv. The app and tv work fine. Response time is high etc. This is a really useful feature especially when I misplace the remote or don’t want to get up and get it. Just to reiterate this is a remote. There should be no reason why it comes with a guide to set up your tv. It is purely used to tell your tv do do certain things just like the remote in the box does. Just on your phone iPad tablet etc. To conclude works perfectly. Any errors are from user error. Just because you make a mistake doesn’t mean the app doesn’t work. Really surprised the app has such a low rating.

The last person to leave a review is talking rubbish. Users want a facility to be able to speed up how they interact with the tv so having a better replacement for the remote ie via this app is welcome!!

What would be good though is a way to text in searches rather than scroll across the text board on the tv (having to then select corresponding letters etc). It would be much better to be able to type in the search etc.

Thanks again Panasonic, I’m sure you’ll update the app with the request as it is obvious users would appreciate being able to type in searches. Ideally users don’t want have to use a clumpy remote when they can interact far more quickly with the tv via their screen on their phone/ipad etc.
