Smartphone Connect 4+

The app, for me at least, does what it's meant to. It works as a handset, it allowed me to transfer contacts, and it allows me to make calls. Functionally all very good.
Unfortunately it takes a huge amount of battery to do it. With this installed my phone battery lasts for less than half the normal time.
The problem seems to be that with background keep alive enabled the app is permanently looking for the base unit, even when you're off wifi. I found by accident that it's still looking when on my office wifi, because it managed to connect to the base unit over my site to site VPN. I can use my home phone from work, not that I ever wanted to.
If I remove my work wifi from the list in the app, it just re-adds it the next time I connect. It desperately needs the ability to properly control which wifi networks it searches for the base unit on. I really don't need notifications popping up to tell me it can't find the base unit when I'm not even on wifi, or on a network that I already know perfectly well can't connect to my home LAN.
The only successful way I've found to stop it is to disable background keep alive. Unfortunately, with background disabled, it's unusable as an additional handset. So it only fully works if the phone is plugged in on charge... like an wired phone.

Does what it says on the tin although causes issues with Car Play in my BMW. When the app is open in the background and the phone connects to my car the radio will force a connection to Car Play audio and will not revert back to radio. Manually switching to radio works for a few seconds and then switches back to Car Play audio.

Shutting down the app fixes the issue. any chance of a fix?

This app is great for answering and making local calls on your WIFI network. But it currently only works on your local WIFI network. I am surprised Panasonic did not develop this app to be able to answer calls and your answer machine remotely from work. For instance, you can buy a simple dog cam now, that allows you to listen to audio and video remotely anywhere in the world once the device is connected on your local WIFI. So I can’t see any reason why Panasonic can’t include this feature on this app, I think it be amazing and help the Panasonic sales on their home phones.
