** PS - If you’re new to Plex, download the Plex app first **
Pop quiz, hotshot: how many streams is your Plex Media Server dishing out RIGHT NOW? What’s your most-watched movie in the past month? Is that CPU you picked up from a sketchy eBay vendor up to the task? More importantly, are you sure that’s the best poster for Speed (1994)?
Plex Dash is a tool created by obsessive Plex Media Server admins for obsessive Plex Media Server admins. Get real-time status of playbacks, DVR recordings, Sync conversions, and more. Monitor bandwidth and server resources with sexy graphs. Dig deeper and learn about top items or individual user history. Fix up artwork. Refresh libraries. Inspect nerdy media details. If it all goes south, check out the raw server logs.
MASTER YOUR MEDIAVERSE
Who’s streaming what right now? Plex Dash answers in spades. Gorgeous Now Playing tiles keep you apprised of all the latest shenanigans, across all of your servers. Put that giant iPad to great use by duct-taping it to the wall (landscape, duh); lean back, pet your hairless cat, and keep an eye on your empire.
DIVE UNDER THE HOOD
Server up to something? DVR recording? Media Optimizer doing its… optimizing? You get a chonky lightning bolt to make sure this doesn’t go unnoticed.
ONE-HANDED CURATION
Browse and change artwork from the palm of your hand while checking out at your local co-op. It’s like that other swipey app, but with less risk of disease.

Ratings and Reviews
The best media server/player out there
Having bought a new NAS to store all my films, tv shows, music and audio books, i then installed Plex and with a few configurations later, left it to go and index all my media.
It was perfect, it found most of my films, TV shows a little less successful, but a few days of manipulating my content resolved these issues. My music was in a bit of a mess (i knew this), so i did spend quite sometime sorting this out.
Sadly, for audiobooks, there appears to be no direct support, whilst they are all listed and i can certainly play them, support for audiobooks is limited.
Overall, very happy with this setup, i have Plex on my TV and can watch my Blu-ray films direct now.
Lost the one start for me, mainly around the lack of audiobook support.
Very good app but still some small opportunities to make it great
Overall I have nothing to complain about. This is truly amazing and helps me to no end, brilliant. As someone who has a large catalogue of family videos and photos on plex shared with our massive family to access at any point and anywhere, the ability to see what’s happening and see how the server is performing is critical
Wish list is small : for iOS I’d love to see the notification that is visible within the app as to how many streams are live, to be an actual app notification with a number on the icon itself so not having to enter the app to see that there is activity
Bad Design and Counter Intuitive.
It’s suitable for the most basic of functions but usability is hampered by Ill-conceived design. Eg. To view details of a media item you must *search* for the item. If you view the item in the library view all you can do is change the posters.
Also, if I’m looking at the movie charts or resource load stats for a particular server and want to switch to see the same charts on a different server there’s no inline way to do this. I have to leave the view, go to settings to change server then navigate back. The app is a bit last century in terms of ux and navigation.
If all you want is to see what’s being watched and changed posters then it’s ok, but for anything else it’s very poor.
