Poor support - and will not download over mobile network

When you try to get support for this app you are warned they are a small team so please don’t ask if you don’t have a real need. Well I had a real need because it would not download podcasts over my mobile network in the U.K. nor would the Discover function work. I asked for help without a response three times. On the fourth occasion I was asked to send the debug text which I did. I have never heard back in spite of another reminder. I have to assume they simply don’t want to acknowledge there’s a problem or are just rude and unpleasant. In all other respects the app is good and I’d use it if they provided decent support and fixed the problem. I’d actually pay for it if they did that. It’s better than Overcast which extracts a subscription.
Plus Lifetime Member: Frustrating addition of monetization options

I love Pocket Casts. It’s a fantastic app, and even with small missteps I feel like they’ve managed to get things back on track. My current criticism is that as a lifetime member I have paid for the app (on multiple occasions, across multiple stores) which means I’m not having to pay for the app monthly; which I greatly appreciate. However, I’m not a huge fan of seeing monetization opportunities as a permanent tab on every podcast. I understand that you need to try to make sales by adding value, but seeing the bookmarks tab on each podcast seems unnecessary. It would be nice to be able to disable that tab in the settings. I have no qualms with there being an option in the profile to upgrade, but adding the tab to every podcast regardless of whether I’m going to use the feature or not is kind of annoying.That aside please keep up the good work. You’ve truly created the best podcast app on the market.

I’ve used the app for years as my primary method of listening to podcasts originally using it as an alternative to the apple own app. The way I can listen on the go , jump back into a podcast where I left off whether it be on the iPad, iPhone, Alexa or Sonos devices and software it never fails to just work. It’s design and considerations of the features and how they work whether it be quickly archiving new episodes I don’t want to listen to or creating a que or increasing the speed it’s all great. Hey and even the automatically cutting out of the gaps , pauses on podcasts is great for the right podcast. Really enjoy this app and would recommend to every one. I use it every day across multiple devices and in the car and on the go while waking.

New: They listened and removed the ads. The app is back to be the best podcast add. To reward their engagement I have purchased the premium package. Old: This has been my go to app for years. It has had updates that are paid for, I have tried these and decided I didn’t need them. However I brought this app before it was free so am very annoyed to see that I am now seeing in app adverts and being asked to pay to remove them. I can more than accept that as I am not paying again I don’t get new features however I paid for this app and I expect an ad free experience in return for my custom. Hopefully this is removed very soon for people that paid for the app. Or bye bye app altogether, losing my stats are not worth putting up with ads.
The mini player now animates when skipping back or forward.
The search bar now collapses more gracefully, and pull-to-refresh is reliable and polished across the board.
Smart Playlist rules are faster to edit, and we’ve fixed episodes shuffling around mid-swipe.
CarPlay users: your progress bar is back on track.
