Ratings and Reviews
Review of the app not the insurance
This is not a reflection of my view of the policy, which I think has actually been pretty good to me so far (I’m 6 months deep). However the app itself isn’t great. They layout and UI is actually very nice, it’s clean and intuitive, and will send you customised notifications if you set them up and can produce reports of your scores from specified timeframes. However this app is WAY out in delivering your actual driverscore. If you want to know your actual score, you’ve gotta use the computer client (when I asked the RAC insurance help desk I was told this) because the app for me is about 12 points below my actual score. The big problem on my app is my braking score which is totally broken and is reading at 32 even though the last time I got a breaking point was early last week and the time before that was about two weeks prior. In short, great app with potential, but the actual core mechanics of the app need serious work because many people won’t call the help desk to be told to use the computer client, and will think their score is potentially 12 points worse than it actually is.
It’s by no means perfect however it’s interesting
First of all this app feels like it’s supposed to be interesting and a bit of a novelty: look where you’ve been look at your acceleration, breaking speed etc. It’s good fun, like google maps is, however, it also has serious implications for your renewal of policy and your driving career for the future.
The legend is dreadful for the map: what does “timed” mean? Accelerate? Yes I did at the heavy traffic junction because as I was told on my test hesitation is a fault. Break? Yes I did when some idiot on a bike came out in front of me with no warning. Should I have used the force and predicted it or just swerved into another lane to keep my acceleration, breaking and “urban” score up to scratch?
This app, and idea has potential but in till someone puts some actual effort into it (or maybe hires someone from the dvla to consult on it.) Totally worthless.
It’s good!!
I never write reveiws for apps but I thought I should in this case , iv seen so many bad reveiws about this app and this insuremce but I can’t understand why, the app is great it even tells you where you cars located and the journeys you’ve taken, it even highlights the point on your journey where you speeded or had bad acclration, yes your score goes down when you drive at night, but that does affect your overall score by very much, as long as your not speeding and don’t breaking or accelerating harsh then your score will remain above 90 no matter what time you drive, there custmoer helpline is so helpful and made it so easy to understand how to put my black box on and set up the app. Highly recommend rac , just thought I’d let you all know as there are so many bad reveiws about this app.
