Rock Drum Machine 4+

Already got the funk and reggae apps, I use them a lot for practice and making quick fun tracks. Seemed a bit pricey, but I get more use out of these apps than others I paid more for, so I guess good value really. When you consider how much it’s pc or mac counterparts cost, these are a bargain. No fillers or repetition, just lots of great solid beats, good for inspiration or better than a metronome for practice. Sounds good in mix without much tweaking, but the ability to adjust most parameters is there if you want to dive in. Good integration with Cubasis allowing some flexibility to start with a simple drum track and develop it along with the song. Might get the bass app next to bring it all together! I used to praise Lumbeats apps, but its now hard work using them in Cubasis. It didn’t used to this hard. Fix it, or give your in app purchases away to people who have bought your apps and are now seeing them depreciate. It’s just great for firing up, letting the intensity and jam give it a human feel and get on with finding your next song structure. All of Lumbeats’s drum apps would benefit from a ‘jam screen’, where all the controls are away leaving maybe 6 pad areas, so that whilst playing guitar/piano, you could quickly move the hand over and grab a fill, or a variation without having to be precise in where you are hitting, allowing you to concentrate on your actual playing. I'm a big fan of Luis' apps. They are not cheap as apps go, but they are excellent value for what you get - which is awesome. For simple jamming backing tracks and foundations for progressions they can't be beat. I particularly enjoy the funk and rock sets, and now with the seamless iBassist integration the fun multiplies. I also have Digitech's Trio pedal to support jam spontaneity but use these apps more - so long as you have an iOS device, you get a whole bunch more bass and beats for about 20% of the price all in.

If you collect beats and music apps, Luis' won't disappoint you and will likely become your reach-for favourites as the have for me. Well thought through and well designed. Quality. Thanks Luis.
