Ratings and Reviews
Ok app but where is the piano designer?
I've been using the Piano App on the iPad Pro M2 12.9 inch. A bit plus over piano partner 2 is that the app now works in both portrait and landscape - unless you choose the traditional metronome which forces it into landscape!
It's nice to be able to access features like ambience and voice levels easily, and the app connects quickly and effortlessly to the FP60X.
The accompaniment feature is nice to have, but the styles are limited and a bit too fussy for my preference. There's little control over them, an intro, and ending and 2 variations. You can use it over Bluetooth midi but expect a bit of latency changing chords. I would like to see Roland enhance and develop this section of the app, maybe more styles, more control such as being able to lock the tempo between style changes.
It's annoying when you change a style that the tempo changes!
You can have just the drums (without the auto accompaniment) which is neat.
The latest update to this app (August 2023) states you can now access the piano designer. Afraid I cannot find it anywhere in the app! I still use the separate app, but that needs updating some time.
Would be nice to have some additional features for the Roland FP60X, such as being able to layer more than 2 tones, being able to lock transpose when changing registrations and maybe easier tweaking of the tones (reverb, effects, brightness, release etc).

Good but improvements could be made!
I really like this app, it offers a great way to update my piano settings and tones. I use it for my band, but one thing I struggle with is between songs try to find the next tones. It would be amazing if you could incorporate a search functionality, for searching for the instrument. Another cool feature would be to include ‘presets’ so if I chose a split function with 2 instruments, it would be cool to be able to save that and then when it comes to playing that song I can just click the preset and it’ll set the right tones. I know that might be trickier to implement but a search function hopefully wouldn’t be too bad and would be a big game changer!

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! We very much appreciate it and I'll make sure to make a note of it for you and pass it along.
Bluetooth is a joke
Brand new LX06 will not connect/ pair with this app. My phone can pair with it as a Bluetooth device but not the app. Have tried everything - used to work in IT so I know how to do it and have even followed step by step instruction that Roland advises - useless app. Don’t bother downloading. Seems that it’s a side of things Roland can’t be bothered to finesse - such as not letting registered owners know when a driver or version update has taken place in the instrument…. Yet can use email for marketing and surveys….
