Be in total control of your heating system with the sensoAPP. The sensoAPP provides the ability to remotely control your Vaillant heating system to ensure comfort as well as operating in a cost-efficient manner. Use with the sensoCOMFORT and sensoHOME controls.

The sensoCOMFORT and sensoHOME are Vaillant's new wired or wireless controls for multi-zone heating systems. They have been designed to be simple to install and use, and operate with Vaillant's proprietary eBUS protocol, ensuring all of the components of the system can easily communicate with each other to provide optimum system performance.

The sensoAPP offers you the following functions:
Freedom and flexibility:
Make sure that your Vaillant heating system is at your desired thermal comfort level at anytime and even when you’re out and about using the sensoAPP.

Always in the know:
The sensoAPP notifies you about the status of your heating system. This includes fault notifications, service reminders and operational irregularities.

Time programming assistant:
With the sensoAPP, you can easily set up time programmes for heating and hot water.

Energy management:
Understand the energy consumption of your Vaillant heating appliance to help you use less energy whilst still maintaining comfort in your home.

Individual room control:
With ambiSENSE TRV’s, you can expand and optimise your entire heating system and use sensoAPP to set the desired comfort temperature for each individual room, helping you to save on energy.
The Vaillant ambiSENSE TRV’s are compatible with the sensoCOMFORT control.

Security protocols:
The sensoAPP has been fully tested and certified by the VDE which provides smart home testing protocols inclusive of privacy and confidential data.

What are the requirements for the sensoAPP and which heating systems are compatible?
All eBUS compatible Vaillant appliances (built from 2007 onwards) with one or more heating circuits with the sensoNET (VR 921) internet communication module and the sensoCOMFORT (VR 720) or sensoCOMFORT (VRT 380) controls.

Poor software and customer support

“Be in total control of your system” says the blurb for sensoApp. I invested heavily in the Senso system on that basis, but since the last update I’ve been unable to use the app at all since it crashes every time I try to adjust any setting. Despite raising the issue with the app developers 7 weeks ago (and yes, I have deleted the app and re-installed it 3 times) and repeatedly chasing them, I’ve had no meaningful response. Now, in the middle of an extremely cold period, I’m having to resort to manual setting adjustments on a room-by-room basis - although these only ‘stick’ for a few hours after which they revert to system settings. A system is only as good as its weakest link, and the sensoApp is just that. Meanwhile my wait for migration to myVaillant goes on (having been told 2 years ago that it was ‘imminent’). The developer MUST put more resources into better software support and actually engaging with its customers. As things stand I would advise anyone against choosing Vaillant products, good as their hardware might be.

As everyone says app is awful.

Have been forced to use this app for a year now. When it works, which is rare it is slow and glitchy. More often it crashes and closes when you try and adjust the heating or water.

In response to the developer response that they add to all the negative reviews. Which is pretty much all the reviews. I have logged a ticket through the app. I don’t hold out a lot of hope. If they can make the app work for me why wouldn’t they just update it to make it work for everyone?

So Near and Yet…

Spent A LOT of money on this system. Each radiator in my house has a valve so I can set every single radiator onto a different schedule and/or switch radiators off and on from the app.

I also really like the look of the app. I’ve used Hive and Nest and much prefer everything about the app and set up to them.

So all would be absolutely great if the app wasn’t so glitchy. Maybe one time in four when I go to open it, it says something along the lines of what it is saying right now…”FAULT, an error has occurred, please try again later.”

I know it will fix itself, there is another fault which is quite common which is when the server can’t be contacted. I assume these are central rather than local issues and I just have to wait it out and it will resolve.

But this never happened with Nest or Hive, and right now what that means is that I have to go round the house setting and unsetting radiators which is not what I paid for. Opening the app and not knowing of the system is working today is just annoying based on what I spent on it.

However I still like the system. I wish the valves weren’t so ugly. It’s just the app that’s annoying.
