Fantastic way to help control your asthma

Using this app and the smart peak flow meter is a fantastically easy way to help control your asthma in a really easy way as the device is so portable it really does help you to keep track without a big bulky pfm in your bag taking up valuable space. I was surprised just how easy to use it was but just as a tip get the full Bluetooth pack I first started using this device when it came out when it was just plug into a headphone Jack and that is much more tricky to get your hands all in the right place. But once the Bluetooth handle came out this changed the device totally and makes it far superior. But if you can only afford the plug in that is still a very good option too you won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t. Here’s to happier lungs

Update two years on from first purchase my lungs are much happier and much more stable I place a lot of this down to the use of this app and the peak flow meter.

Two brilliant innovations

I have used the SPF over the past few months to monitor my occasional and transient asthma.
(Now with the COVID-19 situation, management of any current asthma becomes even more important).
The SPF device is a brilliant bit of kit; so simple, elegant, and really functional. It is a pleasure to use, which means daily usage becomes an easy routine.
The only niggle was that, as an iPhone-user, the SPF device can only attach to the iPhone through a short adapter cable.
However, holding the SPF device and the cable and the iPhone, and pointing the window on the device at a good light source, all whilst giving the best possible blow, was always a bit awkward.
So I was very pleased to read about the new availability of a BT-enabled “handle” for the SPF device. I ordered it and it arrived quickly, in the usual elegant packaging. The setup via the app was so simple that the printed directions for use were superfluous.
I tested the SPF alone and then with the BT handle immediately afterwards, just to compare. Now with the handle, the SPF device is so much easier to use.
In summary, those guys at Smart Respiratory Products have made another really innovative solution to improve asthma management.

Great device

I bought this device as my nhs peak flow meter was awful and I knew the readings weren’t accurate by any means and it looked like it might be worth a go.
Firstly - the Bluetooth bit I really struggled to use as I also have other devices Bluetoothed to my phone - watch, hearing aids and they needed to be disconnected before I could use it.
Once I got a headphone jack for my iPhone 15, this was a game changer, just a quick switch off Bluetooth for the puffs and away you go.
It’s simple and easy to use, and it links with Apple Health as well, so all my asthma info in one place.
I would highly recommend it, indeed I’m going to try the rescue adapter now as I have no idea how much is left in mine.
