Description

This APP only complies to account registered on www.solaxcloud.com, if you have registered on www.solax-portal.com, please download another APP named SolaX.

SolaXCloud is a monitoring App enabling the end-user and the agent to check the inverter status, yield, load consumption and exported energy anytime with the help of cloud data analysis.
End-users can use either remote or local login to view the real-time data and change settings of the inverter, but agent can only use the remote login to view the site information and inverter data due to user privacy protection reason.

Description of End-user Login:
After successful user login, end-users can check various data including site name, panel size, inverter No., battery status, alarm information, inverter yield, load consumption, exported energy and etc. SolaXCloud collects and processes data every 5 mins, users can depend on the dynamic flow chart to monitor the power among panels, inverter, battery, grid and load.
At the same time, if inverter data is online, users can change the settings including Date & time, safety, power factor, work mode, charger and etc. Please kindly note that the password will be required to enter Advance and Super parameters setting.

Description of Agent Login:
After successful agent login, agent can not only check the user, site, inverter list and authorization status, but also the account details including contact person, address, system commission date, rated power, user name, yield today and yield total.

When it works, it’s great….

The problem is that the servers that support this app seem to be frequently down or unavailable. I regularly go through hours where every attempt to access or refresh the app receive a “request time out” message. There’s zero issue with my home internet or the connection between the inverter and my home WiFi so the only possible culprit is upstream. They need to make this far more reliable.

When the app works it’s superb. Great layout, all the detail you could want, easy-to-read graphics and visualisations and plenty of customisation. So much great work, undone by poor reliability.

Sometimes works but could be so much better

Seems to work ok in that it displays current data for solar production but could be so much better. I don’t have a battery and due to location of my inverter I can’t fit a CT clamp on the meter tails so why can’t I remove the “battery” and “feed in” icons from the front page diagram? The CO2 savings appear a bit optimistic too, and are a bit of a nonsense if you’re on a 100% green tariff! Generally feels a bit clunky and could be a lot slicker. Better English would be good too. Lastly it would be nice if all of the information that’s available via the Solax cloud website could also be viewed on the app (e.g. voltages from the panels, etc)

Update 23 Jan 23: Down to 1* now as more often than not you get a “the request timeout” message and no data can be displayed. I also use the Solax API for getting data in to Home Assistant and that is similarly unreliable so I suspect the Solax servers can’t handle the volume of data

OK, but “yield” data not helpful

Does most of the stuff I need it to do, and easy to change inverter settings remotely via the app. Data only updates every 5 mins, but that’s probably ok.
My biggest problem is that there’s no way to see how much power has been generated by the PV panels. Yield data is the power output from the inverter- ie solar generation + power from the battery. If you don’t have a battery or never charge from the grid, this is ok for monitoring PV power production. However I suspect most folk with a battery will charge from the grid for part of the year. In this scenario, yield will include power drawn from the battery which has been derived from the grid, not just power generated by your panels.
If Solax could sort this issue out, would be much appreciated!!
