It’s a hassle

Did not want to go out during lockdown but I think I would have preferred going. Firstly, the website is awful which is why I downloaded the app but that’s another story.

Was about to write a 5 star review about how it worked perfectly for me but then I went back on the app to see what time I requested and my request had disappeared?

Weird, but maybe I didn’t actually press the button. No problem, I’ll request again. Won’t deliver in my area? Ok, I’ll try again? Nobody accepting request. Fine, I’ll try ASAP pick up. Somebody accepts straight away. Then I go on my scheduled requests and the original one is back?! Thankfully I could cancel that without charge (I hope).

Waiting to see how much money comes out my bank now but at least I have my order.

In conclusion, probably don’t bother.

Awful implementation even when it works

Considering I managed to get my Superdrug order in 2 hours a poor review might seem harsh, but the Stuart app and process is horrifically painful, even when it works.

There is no API integration between Superdrug and Stuart so you have to place a click & collect order, hope it’s confirmed, then look up and follow a stupidly complicated process laid out somewhere on the Superdrug website, all done via this separate app and registration. Then you realise how awful the Stuart app is. Addresses are pumped in incorrectly from Google and you can’t edit them and have to start all over again. Amex cards get a “common_network_error”. The app spams you with notifications telling you how busy they are whilst the dodgy UI makes you angry. After an hour you finally submit your order only to find Stuart has changed the pickup point to the wrong postcode. I was lucky enough to have a courier assigned but had to feel awful for them as they drove up and down streets looking for the correct Superdrug for god knows how little money. At least the courier did a good job but I felt so sorry for them I tipped them in cash even on top of the high cost of the Stuart delivery in the first place.

Unbelievably Stuart were bought by the French Post Office, Geopost. I think they should get their money back.

Some pains

Amex not accepted. Was quoted £11 and immediately charged £14. I was actually charged £14 twice...
In-app customer support asked me for a reference number, which they probably could’ve found had they made an effort.
No courier could be found within 15min and customer support wouldn’t give me an estimated pickup time, so I gave up and used an Uber to deliver the item.
