Great flexibility & choice

I’m really enjoying this app. It gives me the flexibility I need to exercise in a busy schedule.
It was really easy to get started- after a few short questions, a plan was generated and it seems to be just right for me - the routines are tough but manageable. The biggest advantage over other apps is the variety of exercises. You won’t be asked to endlessly repeat burpees but you do get a tough workout if you want one.
It’s easy to supplement your plan with a wide range of pre-planned routines targeting specific areas of fitness & you can customise your workouts too but I haven’t explored this feature much.
The only downside is the integration with Apple Watch, which could be slicker.

Poor beginners approach

So, I don’t often write reviews but felt I needed to in this instance. I’ve just signed up for the 7 day free trial hoping that the cost of the subscription suggested a good product. I selected the 30 minute absolute beginners workout thinking that it would offer an easy option that would explain how to perform the exercises, where I should feel the pain during stretches and interact with me whilst I struggled. However I was presented with a short clip of someone getting into the stretch and then the image froze for 90 seconds whilst I maintained the stretch. No sense of interaction at all. After the 90 seconds the clip changed position to the other leg and then froze again leaving me alone so to speak. 90 seconds is a long time to stay in one stretch for a beginner and I’m not sure I would recommend it. There seemed to be an assumption that beginners can simply hold these stretches and don’t need reassurances. Personally I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone thinking of starting up on an exercise regime as they may very quickly feel disillusioned with it all. There are far better apps that offer better workouts for beginners. Disappointing. I won’t be continuing after the free trial.

Generally like this app

I do like the way this app works, the exercises, and even the programs. However, the new way the timer is set to work is just annoying. If I tell it I want a five minute workout, the breaks are included in that five minutes so I actually only get about three minutes of exercises, especially if it’s for stretching which has to pause to change sides. Now to get five minutes of exercises, I have to tell it ten and then figure out where to stop it early so that I actually get what I wanted. A real pain when I want it to pick ten exercises from a list of 20 and now I have to figure out when to stop it because the options for exercise length is in five minutes increments. If it were one minute increments then at least I could say six or seven minutes and not have to worry about ending it where I need to.
