About the 10% Happier book:

In his #1 New York Times bestseller, 10% Happier, ABC news anchor Dan Harris explores how his on-air panic attack in 2004 prompted him to search for a better way to deal with the voice in his head and be less yanked around by his emotions. Spoiler alert: he found meditation.

About the Ten Percent Happier podcast:

In his top-ranking podcast, Dan talks with smart people about whether there's anything beyond 10%. The podcast explores whether you be an ambitious person and still strive for enlightenment and inner peace.

Editors’ Notes

10% Happier is specifically geared to newcomers and skeptics, like its founder—TV anchor and best-selling author Dan Harris—used to be. It uses straight talk and a sense of humor to help you focus on sleeping better, reducing stress, and boosting focus.

Changed my life

This app has made a genuine difference to my life. I had never meditated before using it, and presumed that you had to be some sort of super calm, zen person to be able to do so - this app convinced me to try it, in little bite-sized pieces, and I’m so glad it did. Yes, it is a little bit expensive, but the change it has made to my well-being has been super worth it. The teachers are fantastic, and there is a wealth of constantly-updates resources, many of which are very relevant to today - with meditations on coronavirus sanity, and tackling racial tensions. There is so much wisdom in this app - I truly feel that if I continue to use it, I might just become not only a happier person, but a better person.

Meditation for beginners course.

I don’t like the way this course automatically and charges you in full after a free period without any further consultation within the period of the free trial.

To cancel and get your refund after 14 days is not a financially justifiable way of proceeding. As a result it has so annoyed me I have cancelled my subscription seeking a return of my £85. Until Apple sorts this practice out, I will withdraw my facility of paying because I’m feeling the whole activity is prone to fraudulent activity.

They should be asking as to whether they can take money from your iTunes account. A much more polite more likely successful route would be to have a click through to continue if the product was any good? Not to say I haven’t enjoyed some of the communication but if it is just a method of selling you more after taking £85 from your bank account then I think this should be changed so as not to ensnare the customer with Added stress and anxiety.
