More than 10%, I would say

I was already meditating with Headspace when I joined 10% Happier, but this has really unlocked the potential of what you can get from meditation and mindfulness in a different way for me. There’s a wider variety of styles and I really feel like I’m being educated in meditation, rather than being guided in meditations but with no surrounding framework or explanation. I also joined the 10% Happier one-to-one coaching programme, which is an extra expense, but has amplified all this even more. I find it more helpful in a way than therapy, because instead of getting wrapped up in the content of your thoughts, you’re learning to relate to them more skilfully. Before, with Headspace, I was just doing focus meditation, which I still find really important and helpful, but now I’m working with my thoughts and emotions all the time (not just when I sit down to meditate), getting the hang of seeing them, without trying to change them or get rid of them. This has really helped me face some big life challenges (including cancer), and I’m understanding more and more about myself. High recommend!

After a decade of meditating

“I’ve spent months exploring various meditation retreats, from Vipassana to Osho, TM, and mindfulness. Despite these efforts, I consistently found myself quitting these methods after only a few weeks, mainly due to boredom and a lack of tangible results. However, my experience with the 10% Happier app has been a game changer. I’ve now surpassed my personal record by meditating for six weeks straight, averaging 80 minutes a day. The experience has been filled with an ever-growing sense of curiosity and excitement. I’m gaining valuable insights on managing emotions, thoughts, and patterns. What I particularly appreciate about this app is how Dan Harris addresses the questions that I, too, often have but tend to overlook or dismiss as unimportant. His approach has helped me realize that these questions are crucial for a deeper understanding of meditation and its impact. This newfound realization is what makes all the difference for me.
