Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

Subscriptions may be managed by the user, and auto-renewal may be turned off by updating the user’s App Store Subscription settings after purchase. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase.

Love it!

I always liked The New Yorker’s content. Previously the app would simulate the weekly magazine paper experience which I used to like. Nowadays the interaction is more modern and inline with some other publishers, but I’m glad we can still access the paper experience via the “Magazine” tab. The cover art is accessible and just gives readers a great experience if you are not spoiled by the paper version like myself. I hope the staff and writers continue to create great and interesting articles not found in every other common news outlets. Keep writing like you have been since the 1925 and I’ll remain a subscriber.

Brilliant content, finally in a great app (and up to date) format

It’s the New Yorker, so some of the finest journalism around, but the main magazine reader app (not this app) was so bad, I was forced to browse the website and load up Instapaper with articles, so I could read the magazine bookmarked, or offline.

NyerToday seems to have slowly but surely replaced the original app - which I couldn’t be happier about - it started with a nice curation of recent articles, has good typography, full screen display, bookmarking and maintains page/scroll status.

Unlike the other official app, this is kept up to date (e.g iPhone X compatible soon after X launch).

And now it has the magazine archive!

Be very cautious about this subscription

I’d be very careful about subscribing to the New Yorker. I subscribed a number of years ago and had difficulty accessing anything. When I contacted the service department, they confirmed they couldn’t find any account related to me. I subscribed via an alternative channel. I have now noticed they have taken $100 subscription, this year and last. I have raised this with the customer service department who Initially were responsive and asked for credit card statements, once I had provided these, they stopped returning my emails. I have now sent 10+ emails to various departments that have gone unanswered. Completely appalled and entirely shocked at the behaviour from what I would previously have thought was a reputable company. Exercise caution here if you’re looking to subscribe!
