Am loving this app and the Thriva service, but have a suggestion - on the Plans, I would love it if we could tap every time we did something (like eat a heart healthy meal or do exercise) rather than have to wait til the end of the week and just tap on how many, as it’s easy to forget what you’ve done over the week, and a bit of positive feedback at the point of having done something might be more encouraging too?

Am loving this app and the Thriva service, but have a suggestion - on the Plans, I would love it if we could tap every time we did something (like eat a heart healthy meal or do exercise) rather than have to wait til the end of the week and just tap on how many, as it’s easy to forget what you’ve done over the week, and a bit of positive feedback at the point of having done something might be more encouraging too?

After suffering with depression for many, many years I decided I would get a blood test to rule out any potential issues, as I had not been offered one with the NHS previously.The app was very helpful in recommending which tests I should take, which included an advanced iron profile, testosterone, HbA1c (diabetes), cholesterol, liver function, thyroid profile and vitamin B9 and B12.The blood tests revealed that I had many previously unidentified issues. My testosterone was exceptionally low (as per the BSSM guidelines for testosterone deficiency), my liver function was elevated, I was pre-diabetic and my thyroid wasn’t producing enough thyroxine.From the website and app, not only was I able to access a GP’s explanation of some issues, but I was also able to download the PDF of the phlebotomy report (I.e. direct blood test lab report / print out). The lab used is properly accredited and my GP didn’t question the results (do use the PDF).A second test confirmed my low testosterone, although I had to use another provider as I had to also test for prolactin, LH and FSH (which aren’t yet on Thriva as I write this review). These revealed my low testosterone was likely due to overproduction of prolactin by the pituitary gland - and the other issues (thyroid, liver etc.) might be secondary effects.I now have a referral to the endocrinology service through the NHS as a result of the quick, easy and trustworthy blood test from Thriva. Yes it costs money, but being able to get results without having to first convince your GP to get a blood test and then having to visit a clinic to get your blood taken makes it so much more convenient.Plus, you can add or remove specific tests as you like, so you can control the cost - although I’d suggest using those recommended by Thriva if you’re unsure, at least for your first test. AND they even email you before your next test is dispatched, so you can change or cancel it (which loads of “subscription” services don’t do).Thank you Thriva team! Here’s to good health!

Quick results, great GP advice, really easy to use

Insightful results I’ve been able to get a much-needed diagnosis for pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder through using the Thriva app. Being able to measure my fluctuating testosterone levels at the touch of a button meant I could go to my GP with the evidence I needed to get a diagnosis. I love only having to wait 48 hours for my results and am notified quickly so that I can read them on the go! Easy to use I love that I can access my health information on the go, which keeps it at the front of my mind instead of on the back burner. The app is extremely user-friendly and easy to use. Plus I can order whatever blood tests I want very quickly and change them or cancel if needed. Helpful articles I can access medically-reviewed articles that are relevant to me which gives the app a really personalised touch.

I always look forward to my kit arriving and am always surprised by how quickly the results are available in the app. I usually send off my kit on a Monday morning and the results are back by Tuesday afternoon.Thriva has helped me monitor my kidney health for a while. And it also highlighted a high cholesterol problem I probably would never have known about otherwise. It’s amazing how motivating the Thriva testing cadence (for me every 12-weeks) has been for my diet and exercise too. Before I started testing, I would go long periods without exercising. Now I’m much more consistent.It also got me into supplementing properly which has left me feeling sprightly (may be placebo effect, I realise).The app is lovely to use as well - much prefer it to the web platform especially for the habit tracking stuff. Keep it up!
