I've been using the previous version of this app for years now, it was everything I wanted from a train ticket app, I could easily book tickets and collect them with no hassle. Now I can no longer book open return tickets which is enough to prevent me using this app on its own. But it also no longer suggests previous journeys to easily book them again at another date, forcing you to search for stations each time. I'm not usually one to complain but I can no longer use this app like I used to as it is no longer practical for me, unfortunately I may have to find another app to use if the open return feature doesn't come back...
Trust no more
Dear CrossCountry, you managed to gain my trust and use your app without bothering to check live departure screens at the stations. But now, on my ticket I cannot see train progress like I used to and have to search for my train on live departures, but for that, I rather just use the National Rail app. I appreciate my reserved seats mentioned on the tickets and it’s simpler if having bought multiple tickets, but please automatically remove expired tickets from my wallet. Also, bring back the different price options, I doubt there is only an advance and anytime ticket option. I really liked the old, swipe to scroll over ticket options. Now I have to click to upgrade to first class and then re-select my ticket option. It’s less intuitive than before. I was really excited when the new app came out and at first glance, the new design looked so much better. You have no excuse to change the functionality of the app. I get that times are moving forward and you have to attract a lot of people to use your service. But you have my trust and the trust of your other customers and now I feel that’s gone. We will adapt because some of us depend on CrossCountry trains, but it will take time for you to regain my trust.
A loyal customer.
Stressful to use. Forced to update app in order to purchase tickets. Layout is very unclear so it took me ages to figure out. When I tried to log in my password was too long for the new requirements so had to reset that before I could do anything. Most of the functions from the older versions of the app have been lost, I couldn't search for an open return ticket, the full range of available tickets is nowhere near as clear as it used to be, my saved favourite journeys have been lost and I have no idea how to restore them, I can't search for the first or last train of the day any more either. Once I finally figured out how to purchase the tickets I wanted in my ticket wallet I can no longer see the full details of my purchase, just the train I'm booked on and that's it. At least the seat booking feature now works, it never used to before, so that's one positive thing. Please restore the functionality of the old version or I'll be force to use Arriva's app, heaven forbid.
