Xero Verify 4+

is this the most useless app ever? No that would be itunes, but this runs it close. It's unwanted and unnecessary. Perhaps Xero should have asked the users if they wanted this rubbish. Now we've got to go to our IT departments and ask for a second email (good luck with that) or provide personal details much as our phone number or other details about our lives. It's just another frustration. What we want Xero to do is handle foreign currency and budgeting properly; instead we get bureaucracy. Maybe making the Xero app useful could have been a priority. Maybe setting up users access rights sensibly. But no, we've got this.

Implementing multi-factor authentication is one of easiest, most effective actions companies can take to improve security. It’s no longer a ‘nice to have’ but a genuine necessity.

This has been working fine for me on my iPhone and watch. But it stopped working at the last update. Because iOS now pauses unused apps that do not have background refresh. As soon as I manually updated the app it started working again.

Update:
While this is true, it took a manual update to get it working again, It may not be solely down to the background refresh. iOS has a feature that offloads apps that have not been used for a while.
And this is true because it has been my Apple Watch that I respond to when prompted. So the app on the iPhone, while linked to the watch, appears not to update its usage when used on the watch.

App works fine - well done to devs, no problem there. The systems thinking around its necessity leaves something to be desired; it’s an inconvenience, an extra step, another app, another email address to which you might not have work access, and requires a device outside the Xero system (a phone to which you might not have work access). Pretty sure MFA isn’t a legal requirement in the UK. Once installed you can’t opt out - well you can, but Xero will demand you opt back in to log in. A tedious imposition layered on to what is essentially low-stakes book keeping software. Developer responses here are defensive.
