People power meets the open road in this amazing navigation app. Waze’s crowd-sourced alerts come from real drivers, not algorithms, delivering info you won’t see anywhere else to keep your commute flowing. The friendly interface and convenient detour routing really help the app shine, and its social-network integration make road trips with buddies a blast.

Been using this for over a year now. I like the go home feature as it is more awkward in other CarPlay navigation systems. Kids absolutely love SpongeBob and Bad Guys voice navigation, annoying for most adults but I do enjoy their reactions! Reporting is good also and traffic - it lets me know if there’s a crash above as people are able to report via CarPlay also. Some routes are not as accurate and so I usually have another navigation app running in the background - hopefully this will improve over time.

Still good, but getting buggy recently

Still my go to app for navigation, but with recent updates started noticing strange bugs like part of route disappearing, taking short narrow detours, turning into every turn on the way while not navigating, sound settings have mind on their own (talking when muted or on alerts only and not talking when unmuted), freezing on long multi-hour cross country routes. Setting a starting point is awkward, not able to zoom into route details when in preview, no map display on the phone while in car-play mode (if I want to put a point where to go, it's not possible), fuel stations are not shown and selection through the list is bit a gamble rather than on your way (google maps have it implemented better). It's still a great app, just hope they won't make it worse.

I’ve used Waze for years and it used to be the navigation app I trusted above everything else. Now it has become so unreliable that I’ve stopped using it entirely — even on roads I drive every day.Recent problems include bizarre routing decisions, repeatedly trying to send me back towards roads I’ve already reported as closed, hazard warnings that count down from 1,000m to around 100m and then suddenly reset back to 1,000m, missing hazard icons on the map, and — worst of all — the map sometimes running 20–30 seconds behind my actual position.At motorway speeds, a navigation app being 30 seconds behind can mean the displayed position is hundreds of metres away from where the car actually is. That isn’t a minor bug; it makes the app practically useless for navigation.I’ve now disabled personalised routing, which may explain some of the terrible route choices, but it doesn’t explain the broken alerts, disappearing information and enormous positional lag.Waze used to be brilliant because it was fast, simple and dependable. Somewhere along the way, that has been lost.For me, Waze is dead. I’ve moved to another navigation app because I simply can’t trust it anymore.⭐ 1/5 — only because Apple won’t let me give it zero.
