Taking forward its continuous efforts of building an active democratic citizenry in the country, Election Commission of India has undertaken a new initiative by designing a Mobile Application to show information published by candidates during nomination regarding their criminal antecedents, so that at one stroke, each voter gets such information on his/her mobile phone. The app provides following facilities to Indian voters: • View all candidates who filled nomination • View candidate’s details • View candidate’s affidavit including criminal antecedents • Search Candidate by Name

This app is worthy till some extent. Candidate submit their self declaration that they are not involved in any criminal case, they can fake it as well. And lot of people who are not educated would not be bothered to file an RTI against the candidate or investigate if there is any criminal complaint against the candidate. Since we know till what extent the politics of our country is corrupt they can easily bribe the police and erase the evidence. The government needs to make amendments to this app to maintain full transparency of the candidates.

Also give networth of the MP and MLA candidatesPlease give crime record details in english instead of local languages as english is even understood by south Indians as well as north Indians. By giving it in local language the interpretation is not available to entire country so it should be in english.
