So during the month of April I had made a reservation in Bangkok from the first June to 30th June I agree this was a non refundable booking but the uncertainty happened when the Thai government declared that Indian citizens will no longer be allowed in Thailand since I was travelling from mumbai india glad that the airline I was flying with was human enough to give me my refund but nor did the airbnb people nor the host return my money knowing the situation when I asked the host to postpone the booking to December or some other month he refused to make changes I even offered him to cancel my booking because if he cancels I’ll get my refund but he did not cancel saying that his ratings would go low I mean I was even ready to give him the cancellation fee and write him a great feedback but he refused to help me at all and the app support did not do anything about this I mean had the cancellation of the booking was for some personal reason or a non legit reason I would have agreed and more over they can’t even say that why did I book when I knew Indian citizens were banned in my defence 15 days after I made the reservation Thai government declared the news so how is it my fault if I can’t enter their country so before you make any booking on this app think multiple times they are not reliable.

Air bnb is the best thing ever developed and a boon for travellers. It’s cheaper than any hotels or commercial stays ever but great quality stays at the same time and you get personal experiences with the hosts too. Love the idea of homestays. I don’t book hotels anymore and always plan my trip on bnb. I’m even thinking of putting my listing up there!Apart from good verified listings and ease of booking, their customer service is great. We got a bnb that did not meet our expectations and had very misleading description, we were instantly refunded the whole booking amount as soon as we got in touch with them. So although it’s prepaid bookings n all but it’s trustable. I never really got an expectations-vs-reality-scenario except for that one. Most listings are exactly as described and matches the pictures. Their feedback system is also very great and thorough and truly a feedback.
