Description
Pockets by ICICI Bank - The most comprehensive mobile wallet to (1) Pay Anyone, (2) Shop Anywhere and (3) Bank with ease for any bank's customer. Pockets is the first app in India to offer UPI Payments, Bharat QR code payments. With Pockets wallet, you instantly get a free virtual VISA card that can be used for shopping at all online websites/apps. You can even request for a physical card that can be used at stores. Moreover, you can recharge your prepaid mobile or DTH connection and pay your utility bills from within the app. You can send money securely to bank accounts, your contacts or virtual payment addresses using Unified Payment Interface (UPI). That's not all, you can upgrade to a Pockets Savings Account right from the app to get a debit card and create deposits.
New: Introducing Bharat QR code standard supporting Visa, MasterCard and Rupay cards.
New: Introducing payments through UPI. You can now transact (send and collect money) using UPI and manage your Virtual Payment Address or VPA from Pockets. You can also use UPI to pay merchants.
UPI ID is a unique ID that is used to make UPI payments in place of bank account details.
UPI PIN is similar to your Debit Card PIN number, a 4 or 6 digit number which needs to be set by you while creating your UPI ID. For all your UPI transaction UPI PIN is necessary. Please don’t share your PIN.

(a) VISA Card – The Pockets pre-paid wallet is a VISA card, which can be used to shop online on websites such as Amazon. You can even get a physical card for payments at shops! Use it for small value payments without disclosing your debit/credit card details.

(b) Scan & pay – Make secure cashless payments by scanning UPI QR, Bharat QR and mVISA QR codes without the need to swipe a card.
2. Pay Anyone
(a) Transfer funds - Transfer funds instantly and securely to bank accounts and your contacts (via UPI, mobile number, email, WhatsApp). You can also request money from other Pockets wallet users.
New: Pay and collect money from anyone instantly using Unified Payment Interface (UPI). UPI allows secure money transfer without disclosing bank account details.
(b) Prepaid Mobile Recharge - Recharge your Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Tata, Aircel, BSNL, MTS & MTNL connections.
(c) Bill Payment - Pay utility bills such as Reliance Energy, BSES, NDPL, BEST, MSEB, Torent, Mahanagar Gas, Indraprastha Gas, Gujarat Gas.
(d) Postpaid Mobile & Land Line Bill Payment - Pay Postpaid bills for Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Aircel, MTNL.
(e) DTH connection recharge - Recharge your Tata Sky, Dish TV, Airtel, Videocon, Sun.

Ratings and Reviews
Stopped working after iOS 16 update
The app worked just ok till iOS 15. It won’t even launch after I installed iOS 16 update. Tried reinstalling the app a couple of times, but to no avail. I don’t see an update of the app available on app store either.
Please work on the UX and request specifically to stop the irritating pop up every time one logs in. Let users stay on the dashboard and choose where to go.
Beware of this app and trust the poor ratings on the App Store
I wanted a simple app for day to day transactions to avoid using my main account. I tried pockets, and it has been a nightmare. On the outside it looks like an attractive idea - UPI linked digital wallet, but it is just a ‘freebie’ by icici, and it is treated that way.
I tried this for a couple of months, and in between iOS 16 was launched - and the nightmare began. It has been over 2 weeks since then, and this app does not work on iOS 16.
To make matters worse, the customer service is terrible. They only work from 9am to 7pm on weekdays, people who answer the phone ask you to write an email. They follow up 2 days later, each time from a different person. My problem was not resolved, and my money was stuck in the wallet as you cannot use netbanking to access pockets wallet.
I had to borrow my friends phones everyday, transfer my sim, install pockets on their phone, and transfer the money . I had to do this 5 times as the app allows a transfer of only ₹5,000 when installed in a new phone 😭😭.
It has been a nightmare.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP…
Full of Bugs not even able to register
This app is full of bugs. I wasn’t even able to register for pockets account through this app. I selected passport as my ID for account creation but the ID number input field only accept numbers ad the input value, so basically any ID with Alphanumeric numbers, Like Voter ID, Passports, PanCards etc. cannot be used for pocket account registration/creation through this app. And more over if you have a space in your first name then also it wont allow you to register for the pockets account.. This app is absolute garbage and nothing else. A sheer blackspot on the image and reputation of ICICI which is considered to be India’s most technically sound Private Bank
