One of the core features that I wanted was the ability to scan bills and assign shares to people. Been using AI chat bots to do this but the new version of the App has this in Pro. Like it legit makes life so much easier. And they coded it the way I assign which is with AI I usually use the initial of person and if there is a conflict, use an additional letter. I love the logic it uses. The only thing it’s missing which I did with the AI was assign shares for items. So for example, if a bill has an item with quantity 3 and I had 2x and my friend has 1 then there should be an ability to modify the weight. This isn’t too hard to implement but can easily be done. You folks can extend the app further by collecting then bill info so you can have a database of various venues and the costing of their items (along with price change over the years) and be able to predict how venues are doing too which is a useful data point. You can further take the name of the company behind it and mark a field with it because many a times when I see my credit card bill, I can’t figure out who the heck is XYZ corporation but it would be some venue I went to. A huge shoutout to the team for incorporating this feature. As a developer, it’s such a boon. You just got yourself a more committed pro subscriber. P.S. When I went outside the country and withdrew money and split across to my friends, I did proportional splits based on spending of each person (again using AI chat). So for example I could withdraw 25k baht in one go with a 220 baht fee and at the end of my trip, I calculates expenses of each person who was given each amount (either as whole) or me spending on them using the currency and then calculate the splits. This could be a nice feature to see—like a “trip” feature. Keep up the great work folks!

In such cases, the current monthly or annual subscription model may not feel justified, as it is not relevant to the duration or frequency of use.A per-trip pricing model, limited to a specific number of days (say, 7–10 days), could cater perfectly to this use case. why can’t I search people with their phone numbers. Its unique to each person just whatsapp works. If they aren’t logged in with their phone numbers ask them to send a invite to join splitwise instead of asking each and every person to share their mail id.Recently I had the problem of adding a group member who wasn’t on splitwise with their phone number (I added him manually anyway) but later he added himself with the group invite. So he was essentially added twice in the group (by me and himself) and all the expenses got jumbled up coz of that. I had to edit all the expenses and tag them to one acc and then remove the other from the group. This wouldn’t happen if phone number was mandatory and email was optional so even if someone joined in later it would sync up and not manually sync them.
