TRAI DND App will help consumers to curb unwanted Telemarketing Calls/SMS by reporting to their respective telecom service provider (TSP). With this App, consumers will be able to:
1) Register their mobile number under DND (Do-Not-Disturb)
2) Report spam SMS/Calls, after DND registration.
Registration of mobile number under DND (Do-Not-Register) will take upto 07 days after putting the request with respective telecom service provider (TSP).
For reporting spam Call/SMS, App will auto-create an complaint registration SMS, for sending it to respective TSP. Complaint registration SMS will be sent to toll free number 1909.
TRAI DND App will not block any SMS/Calls from authentic businesses/entities that you have subscribed too, e.g your bank, food delivery apps, travel/taxi apps etc. However user will be responsible for any loss occurred if they report these Call/SMS.

Superb app but there is bug as well
I am looking for new job and during this period I can not miss any phone call. It was irritating for me when i used to receive number of spam calls. I couldn't even take a nap in the noon so much calls were coming. Finally i found this app where trai is really making pressure on these cellphone companies to stop these spam calls and messages. It's being 10 days now, calls/sms are reused to 10%.
But there is a bug also in the app. I reported a promotional sms and rather than sending the phone no of the sender, this app appended number of one of my friends and now he is getting warning emails from Airtel to justify a promotional sms he sent.
Coincidentally he shared this issue with me and when i checked all my sms history, i found app has added his no rather than real sender's no. Now it is necessary to check no in the 1909 sms before sending. Pls fix this bug asap.
Useful app but TRAI effort is checkmated by my service provider
Why should Vodafone trigger a call back and insist on confirming my name, phone number and read out the entire sms when trai app passes it on straight through. This just makes me waste time if I want to pursue any junk sms / call. It will result in customers not using the app and service providers and trai declaring hollow victory over junk calls.
The complaint should go straight througha and service providers be asked to reply by email or sms on final outcome instead of making more junk calls to the customers from agents who can barely converse.
Works Almost fine
The app is confused in dual sim iphones and mixes up the primary and secondary numbers while sending the SMS to 1909.
For example: Primary is AirTel and Secondary(eSim) is Jio. If my default line for calls is set as Primary in Settings > Mobile data, it will always use primary line to report spam even for spam messages / calls received on secondary number.
To overcome the issue we have to turn off one of lines before reporting. This is a little frustrating as the app should considered the line on which the spam is received rather than considering the default line from settings. This needs to be addressed.
