Great Investing Platform
Easy to use and lots of nice features such as creating your own flexible auto-invest orders. Finding stocks is easy and there are many basic due diligence stats that are listed with it. My only issue is the scale used to determine risky stocks. More than 90% of the stocks available on Sharesies are listed as high risk and blue chip companies such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Apple are all labeled as high risk which simply isn’t true. Even the S&P 500 trust fund was given a 6, despite it being perhaps the safest ETF investment you could make. Other than this, the app is brilliant.

The best platform in NZ
Have had a wonderful experience with Sharesies. From the days of NZX only to now ASX & US markets.
The lowest fees of them all. The easiest platform to use. I utilise this platform as a savings/investment portfolio. Reliable & safe to use.
The freedom to make profit in different areas is definitely easier than most platforms NZ has to offer. Withdrawals are easy and worry free.

Beware - overseas investments locked into Sharsies
I’ve used Sharesies for over a year now… there are better investing options for kiwis. Beware.
The biggest problem? Investing in overseas stocks via Sharesies gives you no rights to your shares. To put it another way, you don’t ‘own’ your shares.
Once you buy non-NZ stocks through Sharsies there is NO way to transfer stocks elsewhere. In fact, you can’t transfer shares in, or out.
They don’t support it. Meaning, if you want to send stocks to another broker account, you can’t.
Your only option? Sell your shares - wait for markets to open - get ‘best price’ at time of order execution - wait for funds to hit your balance - withdraw funds to bank - wait for money to arrive - invest elsewhere - then put your buy requests in and wait.
Want to DRS your shares? You can’t. If you don’t know what DRS is, look it up and learn about it, please. Note - if you don’t ‘directly register’ your Shares with a nominated registrar, you don’t ‘own’ your shares.
Sharesies basically work with DriveWealth in the US to route your orders to US exchanges. The ‘shares’ shown in your Sharsie’s account are only IOU’s.
