ThreeNow 12+

I was feeling hopeful that the new app would be better but still some issues and some playback issues. I dont understand why they havn’t developed a way to minimise the screen. I frequently do this with my other streaming apps so i can check messages etc while still watching show in the background. Threenow is the only one that cant manage to do this. Its pretty painful having to go out of the program all of the time

It would be hard to describe an App as bad as this - unless of course you have looked at the TVNZ+ offering. It constantly buffers, periodically just freezes, there is no bookmark function that works, the closed captions option is not remembered (and for someone measured at 78% hearing impaired CC is essential) but ThreeNow disdains that. Add to that it doesn’t remember what you watched in the “Continue Watching” option and the only way to get continuity is to completely shut everything down and then open it all up again - which includes restarting the iPhone - so a 45 minute episode takes almost 2 hours to watch. I tried to watch Far North which is about bungling drug smugglers and inept police and to which the ThreeNow programmers should be added. Decidedly amateur, inept, and worth less than what you pay for it. Ie they should pay you to put up with their incompetence. I wish I could submit a minus star rating.

Haven’t used this app for years because Three’s wall to wall reality tv is too inane to spend time on. Then Warner Discovery decides to monopolise MotoGP coverage in NZ which TVNZ+ had been doing a fine job of broadcasting both Live and On Demand. Such a fine job that I’d begun watching a lot of TVNZ+ shows as a result and recommended it to friends. I thought the same thing would happen with the ThreeNow app but no. I am deleting it and telling others to do the same. It crashes when Searching and when using the Categories tab. I have to search online for the MotoGP race schedule and then use the Livestream function to watch and there is no reminder function or On Demand option. It is so frustrating and I am far from being a tech luddite. App not fit for purpose. Avoid.
