Description

Kia ora Auckland, It’s us, your water provider. It only took till 2023, but we’ve caved in, moved with the times and got an app. Why? To make life a tad easier for you and your whānau when it comes to viewing your water use and paying a bill.

If you’ve got a single use water meter at home - sorry, shared meter peeps, you don’t qualify this time around – you can tap into your water use without waiting for a bill. And no matter if your meter is a mechanical version or a new smarty-pants one, everyone can make one-off payments right here, right now!

If you’re lucky enough to have a smart meter, you’ll get the most out of this wee app. There’s basically more features than you can shake a stick at. Check it out:

- View your water use
- Compare your household’s use against our water efficiency targets
- Get notifications when we reckon there’s a leak at your property
- Add multiple properties to your account
- Make one-off payments
- View your bills and transactions
- Find out about water outages in your hood
- LiveChat with our team

So, don’t dilly-dally – tap into these features today.

As always, here’s the legal bit. By downloading and using this app you agree to our mobile app terms of use.

Some good features but could be better

I like how it’s possible to pay on the app, but it would be good if you could add online eftpos as an option which is more secure than account2account for example, because it just sends a payment request to your banking app and you pay directly on your banking app, meaning that your banking information such as log in information isn’t provided to account2account.

Also, it would be good if the app used modern app technology instead of having the feel of being a hybrid website and app.

Like it except

I like using watercare app to check our water usage, except the login page which needs me to enter the password and I have to do it every time when I open my app, doesn’t autofill my saved password or allow me to use my FaceID. So annoying!!!

Developer Response ,

Kia ora, Thanks for that feedback which we'll pass onto the team.

Waste of an app which we pay for

The app has a nice clean interface, but as a person who pays with automatic payment, the app serves absolutely no purpose. There is no feature to submit a meter reading, you can’t send a message or report a fault in the app unless it’s via the “live chat” which is only active between office hours of Mon-Fri, my bill is already delivered efficiently via email. So for any useful purpose I use the Watercare website to submit reports and information.

Hopefully there is further development because otherwise we are supporting the cost of the app in our billing, but it’s delivering no value.
