China Banking Corporation (Philippines), more popularly known as China Bank, initially catered to the needs of the Filipino-Chinese community. Established in 1920, the Bank was a vital key player in the reconstruction and economic recovery of the country after World War II. In 1927, China Bank was listed in the local stock exchange and in 1969 became the first local bank to process deposit accounts online. In 1991, the bank procured its universal banking license.
Today, China Bank is one of largest private universal banks in the Philippines. It offers a wide range of financial products and services through its vast network of branches and ATMs both in-bank and off-site. China Bank maintains its focus on building a customer-centric organization and building on the foundations for sustainability, as well as laying the groundwork to be able to compete in the digital banking sphere. It has continued to expand its branch network, strengthen its manpower with highly skilled professionals, enhance its technological platforms, and enter into new business lines.
It also provides merger and acquisition, capital raising, debt and securities underwriting, financial restructuring, and economic advisory services by way of its investment banking arm, China Bank Capital Corporation, and securities brokerage through China Bank Securities. It also provides insurance brokerage services and bancassurance through its subsidiaries China Bank Insurance Brokers Inc. and Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corporation, respectively. The Bank has more than 500 branches nationwide, including more than 150 from its thrift banking subsidiary, China Bank Savings.
China Bank is also one of the first banks to distribute EMV-ready ATM cards in compliance with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and has also recently upgraded its online personal banking portal to better serve its ever-evolving set of clientele.

Laggy, buggy, not user-friendly and transfer not working

Whenever you click a button or select an option it takes a while to load. After updating to this latesr version, transfer to others requires a date option that when you select January as the month, only 1 as day can be selected, other days are disabled. Recurring checkbox is not clickable. I dont know what is the purpose of selecting the date. Not user-friendly, lacks user info on most selection. There are also terms like JUMP, One-Click Transfer that is not familiar to the users.

Obsolete technology

Doesn’t have features that are essential like editing account information. The app is also very hard to navigate.

It doesn’t communicate with the phone or password managers for auto sign in. It’s a hassle that you have to type long passwords everytime you log in. You can’t even use facial recognition, it only has the touch ID feature which was the technology 5 years ago.

In order to change the registered mobile number for the OTP, you are required to visit the branch. This defeats the purpose of having a mobile app. Other banks allow changing of the registered mobile number through the app. This is actually the first time I’ve encountered this. Even Landbank which was the worst one before I had Chinabank has way better app than this one.

Hi! We are working on additional features of our mobile application, and announcements will be made once these are available. Thanks!

Not for impatient people :)

Do you get irritated quickly? Do you throw things around when you get mad? If you are, please consider changing banks. 🙂 This mobile banking app is the epitome of what not to do when developing a banking app. Last week it was an issue with the servers, constant re-logging off-on, endless prompt of session expired. Now, it’s an OTP that you will receive 1 hr later. 🙂 And the developer’s response to these low ratings and negative reviews? “Please email us your concerns blah blah” 😆 instead of patching the bug or whatever is the problem with this app 😂 loool

P.S. I won’t get tired of sending negative reviews :)
P.P.S. Maybe you should pay your developers better so they’ll do their job better. Or if they’re already paid well, hire more competent ones then.
