I tried taking a loan from them just to check if their rates, policies, system and process are okay. For the payment, I enrolled my BPI savings account to get a lower interest rate and also so I won’t have to remind myself to manually make the payment every month. Now on the day of the first payment I got notification from my bank that the payment has been deducted from my account and when I checked on my Tonik account it showed that the first payment has been applied soI thought everything was fine. To my surprise though I got an email the following business day that I missed my payment and I need to top up my Tonik account to process it. I checked my BPI acct and saw that the deduction was still there I then checked my Tonik acct and sure enough it says there that I missed my first payment. I immediately reached out to their CS via chat to clear the issue. She said that if I did my payment the previous business day it would be reflected the following business day but I dont have to worry as it will not be tagged as late payment. I told her it was your system who deducted it automatically from my account why should it take another business day for it to reflect as if the payment was done manually. Also on the actual day of the payment my Tonik account showed that it got the payment but now it says it didn’t received any payment and if ever a late fee of 500 php will be applied. She just apologized to me and when I asked her if I would continue getting these type of emails for my future payments she said yes 😖

I’ve got to be honest, you guys had been helpful with the loan for my startup business last year, so I am grateful, hence, been paying you ON TIME ALL THE TIME until this month (until this is sorted) I almost lost a big client since you’ve been calling me 5-7 times a day a week and everyday from there during working hours to remind me of my loan payment due date. It is just unnecessary, unacceptable, ridiculous, unprofessional, disrespectful — and illegal! These calls are on top of the multiple emails and SMS you sent! Legit banks do not do this! I’ve heard an approach like this done by illegal lenders/creditors which most of those now have piled up formal complaints and legal cases. Having said, I am now seeking legal advice if I can do the same with you. I asked to just send me emails and SMS and only call me in an event I miss a payment which never happened before, I requested politely and repeatedly through all channels possible, but the next day you AE’s kept doing the same and when I told them about a previous conversation, they have no idea, thus I am just wasting my time everytime I raise my concern. I have no intentions of not paying but I want this rectified ASAP! Please have your Supervisor call me, send me a message first because I am hot answering any of your Account Specialists - the last one was also DO NOT know how to listen, and instead of helping resolve the issue, opted to insist what he and his other colleagues obviously do not know about. SAVE YOUR CALLS FOR DELINQUENT CLIENTS!

Competitive savings products but VERY slow customer support

Great product but VERY slow customer service. Despite being available “24/7” the resolution is not immediate. My recent pain point with them was the pull-up for updating personal information. It’s not easy to update or change employment types. The live chat took 10 mins just for me to request the change only to be given a TICKET NUMBER. It has been more than 14 days, I’ve followed up via email and it’s still processing. If you will put a pop-up that’s disrupting me from being able to access my account you should also be prompt in updating my account once I’ve provided the necessary info as part of your KYC/BSP compliance. Please improve on that aspect of your service.Dropping my rating by another star. Sent a follow-up and was still not given a resolution. They mentioned they’re receiving a lot of verifications. But waiting beyond 14 days is unacceptable. I have never encountered a bank that doesn't provide access to one’s account even after being given the necessary documents. I asked if I can just close my account and move my funds out. Ironic that it’s easier to close an account than be provided access so you can top-up your deposit. So frustrating!
