DAIKIN Mobile Controller 4+

Not sure how else to let Daikin know that their wifi thing is an absolute junk. Slow, laggy, hangs often, and has a really crappy setup procedure that only uses WPS - this means you have to run to your router (wherever that is), press WPS button, then run to your AC, and watch it pair. And the worst part is that the Access Point of the wifi adapter on the FCU can’t be turned off unless I turn the thing off (which disables the whole thing). This is terrible design, Daikin. I don’t want 5 aircons adding more noise to the already crowded 2.4Ghz band in my house.

That a company of this size, with industry-leading appliances, has the nerve to launch an app with blatant performance and design issues is very surprising. It is not that difficult to find 2 or 3 talented developers who can create a well-designed mobile app that looks modern and performs well. The Dyson and Philips Hue apps come to mind, and many others. Also, a native Apple iOS app and no Apple HomeKit integration? Overall, I am very disappointed and hope that app improves soon. Daikin, give your customers what they deserve. We pay a lot for your tech.

Let’s not even talk about the poor choice for wifi connection to the aircon units where other reviews have been hammering about.

Just speaking about the app, makes my blood boil…. Not only is it slow, but the app keep thinking that my aircon units doesn’t exist even though it has already been set up properly … this will auto resolve in about 3-5 mins worth of loading, which I would have already on the aircon using my remote… thereby making this app unnecessary in the first place.
