We can’t hire fitness star Jillian Michaels to come to our homes and walk us through exercise routines and diet plans, but this app is absolutely the next best thing. We appreciate the jargon-free approach to workouts and meal planning—for example, combining Booty Boot Camp routines with a delicious omnivore diet. Jillian motivates us marvelously with her polished videos, offering clear instructions, endless encouragement, and some bumpin’ music.

Hi!! So I downloaded this app a few days ago and finally got it all set up with my stats. I’m 3 days into it and just did my first workout. I already know this app deserves a 5 star because everyone wants to do fitness for different reasons. Could be to lose weight, or to find better workouts, or stay fit. Whatever the reason is I feel as though this app does it all justice! There is a fee you CAN pay IF you want the premium workouts but I don’t. I use it completely free and it lets me log my meals, I do the 7 minute workouts which seems to be plenty for me, and I can track my progress. Honestly that’s all I need. I wanted an app that kept me on track and this one does that with all the daily motivational/educational quotes on the top of your home page. It also goes by your own individual stats. Almost like a real personal trainer. It doesn’t push you too far but it pushes you just right. I also love that it asks you to upload a before pic and she says she’s going to ask for another one every 2 weeks to keep in your journal so you can see your progress. You can also do fitness tests every so often to see how far you’ve come. All of this is COMPLETELY FREE. You gave the option to purchase the yearly subscription for more personalized workouts but I find the free option does what I need it to do. Also I love Jillian Michaels. I’m so pumped she made this app. Also with the free option she gives you meal plan ideas. And schedule your workouts. I almost forgot to mention that. I can’t wait to watch my transformation with this app!! 😁😁😁
Prefer the video library’s series over workout generator

I’ve been using JM app for over a year. I have been using the Body Revolution DVDs for years over and over so was excited when this app came out. The workout generator concept is great and I did a whole series on the hardest level using the equipment I said I had, but its not as intense as the videos get and it lacks the true motivation you hear from Jillian in the gym videos. I just prefer the more snarky side of her and seeing those other gorgeous bods’ form and interaction, so I hope she keeps making them and doesn’t surrender to the generator.I will say there is some glitchiness in the app that has frustrated me, which is a reason this isn’t getting five stars. I have sporadically experienced starting a video and then needing to pause it and exit out to my Apple TV settings to connect to my headphones or to double check that I skipped ahead to the right number workout. When I either select the same workout or a different one, the previous workout plays along with the new one. This happens regardless if I kill the app and restart the Apple TV. The only way to move forward is to just let that whole workout play. This has happened on the iPad too. There are times when on the phone and iPad that the app just won’t play to the point that I’ve had to delete the app and reinstall it. I think I was relieved that it kept my history though.

I've had the app since it came out. I've seen it change many times from the purple pink gradient to the basic white and black now. It has added many other trainers, all her previous DVD's, some mediation, at the gym workouts, audio workouts, walk/run, pregnancy programs, meal plans, personal profile and a community to talk to people about your struggles or just encouragement. It has quite a bit. I dont know the current price plans (im locked in 😏) but she posts discounts every so often on FB. She also posts free circuits on her insta/youtube and advice on certain health stuff if you're into that. As well as a free podcast that kinda just goes with the flow on topics she wants to chat about as well as the occasional health professional on. What I love most about the app is it's completely customizable and I can use my own music. It has music but I like my own. The app most certainly has some intense training however, I feel its catered towards the average person. Many of the people in the community only workout with just Jillian (lol no pun intended). Only dedicated people use the app in addition to other exercise avenues. The app is all you need but adding on to it with outside workouts and equipment allows for better or quicker results.
