A Challenge

Puns Are Fun
My previous review (below) is amended. The programmers got rid of the glitch and added more puzzles. I really get caught when they use clues with two meanings (makes me think!) like wound which could be an injury or a coil. Good job! I also have not seen the ad I disliked recently. Thanks!I have several of David Hoyt’s games and really like them. The Jumble Crossword game has a few problems. The first one is that you do not always get the clues for the word to put into the grid. At least half the time I have to go back and re-pick the puzzle in order to get the clue word. It is a bother but easily done. Today I got the initial “bonus” word at the beginning but the app did not accept it. I reversed the two letter i’s and the app still didn’t accept it. I skipped the bonus word and it gave me the exact word I had put in several times. The last problem is a personal choice and just an exception. There is one game ad that features a war game with destroying tanks etc. I think the violence is in poor taste for this day and age. I thank Mr Hoyt for his other games. They are great! The programmers do a great job on them. Jumble Crossword does not meet the bar they set.

I play all of David Hoyt’s games in addition to several others. This one is my favorite. I love everything about it, from the extra challenges to earn coins, to the sound effects, to the daily bonus word, to the challenge question after each puzzle is solved, to the different difficulty levels, and on and on. It’s very addictive. My only complaint is I run out of puzzles and have to start over to satisfy my addiction. When new puzzles are added, I’m in heaven. BEST GAME EVER!Update: Needs puzzles added more often.

I play all of David Hoyt’s games in addition to several others. This one is my favorite. Should Be Removed From App Store

Now (June/July 2024) the app will suddenly cause Safari to launch opening some scam site that says your device is being scanned for viruses. This game has been a lot of fun to play but has caused serious issues that should not happen period. This latest critical issue is the end of my use of it, and I recommend it be removed from the App Store. Previous review: Previously there was some kind of drum beat or music that started playing when the app was launched. I assume it was part of some ad even though no no ad was playing. This required the phone to be set to silent. That issue disappeared after a few months but now there is some kind of clicking noise once the app is launched. At first I thought it was coming from my tv. Again I have to silence my phone. It’s possibly part of an ad as well but no ad is playing. The game is nice but the developers do not monitor what the app does. If they were managing this better it would be a 5 star app. As it is it’s an annoying 3 star one.

Am I the only user for whom the app frequently freezes?The app also frequently cuts off my streaming audio. Am I the only user who has a podcast or ballgame on when I’m unjumbling?Having said that, the premise of the game is fun and engaging, even if the app thinks the main city of a state is its “capital.”.I have every intention of spending $2 to remove the ads—once the freezing ceases—but I gotta confess I’ll reallllly miss the ad for the spot remover with the lady who thought the spots were “freakles.”So please lemme know if you’re having issues with the app freezing and/or cutting off your streaming audio!
