The game is... good. However, the story feels bogged down by the fighting. I don’t have as much equipment or gold as I could have, due to my hesitation on ransacking bodies... So that may be my problem? But even then, doesn’t the game kinda ridicule you if you take from the corpses on the beach? I could ransack all the bodies, get good equipment, but the game’s dialogue acts as though it’s a path you shouldn’t take... Back to my main point now. The story feels slow, halted by the fights. I get in them, and die. And die some more. I spent till 3 AM yesterday trying to take down the “Cartel Guardian” or whatever. And as of today, I finally did it. But beating him didn’t make me happy, just relieved I could move on finally. But now I’m stuck once more, fighting the Mantis himself. I can't make it past him, so once again, the story has been paused for the sake of fighting the “big bad boss”. I find the game to be frustrating instead of fulfilling. And since I can’t get past the Mantis, even with full health, different combinations of armor and weapons... I feel like just having my crap ending, being Mantis’ slave again, calling it a day, and uninstalling. I’m sure if I did manage to beat the Mantis, the conclusion to the story would be just as unsatisfying as once you heal up Rasleen, she gets killed! Why even put her in the story, why make users spend time on an objective to heal her, if you kill her off in the end? As an emotional grab? Cause it didn’t affect me. I find myself having no attachment to any of the characters, even the one I play as. The story makes you go through challenges, and once you’re out of them, you only feel more discontent by the results of your so called “victories”...
Hi! It's perhaps no excuse, but it's really difficult to make a game that is hard enough for those that maximize all outcomes, as well as easy enough for those that are unlucky or simply choose harder paths. The game offers a lot of ways to get back on track if you're not strong enough to defeat the enemies: you can beat the game through the help of charisma, there are small side quests for additional items, gold and xp, there are places in end-game where it's easy to get gold for better gear, and lastly, it sometimes comes down to gear strategy. In either case, I truly am sorry for the experience you've had, and it's not something we want. We'll take this feedback with us for future games and updates!
